NH House passes medical marijuana bill

0 votes

"CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE — The New Hampshire House passed a bill today, 234-138, that would allow seriously ill patients to use medical marijuana if their doctor recommends it – a first for either chamber of the state's legislature.

Now that the bill – HB 648, sponsored by Evalyn Merrick (D-Lancaster) – has cleared the House, patients and advocates are calling on the Senate to pass it and send it to Gov. John Lynch to make it law without delay."

The Doctors are in Large Group Practices Owned by Pharmicuticals

and most are Prohibited from recommending it or signing any card even if they believe it is in the best interest of their patients they still won't be allowed to sign the card / recommendation.

So it is a Red Herring, A Straw Man... BS...

It lets the people think they are being compassionate while turning the system over to the wolves...The Pharmaceutical Companies...

Don't fall for this B/S... Medical Marijuana is a scam. But, it is better than nothing.

They have this law in CA

but the feds come in and arrest the distributors. They ignore state laws.

Medical marijuana advocates are breathing more easily

After California legalized medical marijuana, Charles Lynch opened his cannabis dispensary nearly two years ago in Morro Bay, getting a license from the city and joining the chamber of commerce. Even the mayor showed up for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

A year later, U.S. drug enforcement agents raided his business. Now Lynch is worried that he'll get at least five years in prison when he's sentenced Monday in federal court in Los Angeles on five counts of distributing marijuana.

Whatever happens, Lynch said, he'll appeal. "I don't feel like I deserve going through life as a convicted felon for doing things the state of California allowed me to do," he said.

However, the nation's medical marijuana users are breathing a little more easily these days, confident that such stories soon will be a thing of the past.

At news conferences last month and again last Wednesday, Attorney General Eric Holder said that there would be no more federal prosecutions of cases involving medical cannabis dispensaries. He said they would be left alone as long as they were complying with state laws.

don't get too excited

last time this came across his desk, Gov. Lynch vetoed it. And I recall hearing him say recently that he was inclined to do the same again.

Yup

His wife is Dr. Susan Lynch, pediatrician, on boards of a crapload of "healthy this & that & anti DRUG" groups. She spearheaded a BMI (weighing kids in school) program, which informed a LOT of healthy, muscular children that they were at risk of becoming OBESE!, etc...
Also, she's from Massachusetts. :)

there's a difference

Last year it was a partial decrim bill - more controversial than this, which is a medical marijuana bill. Should have a better chance of passing. But you're right, it's not over yet. It never is with government. Even victories are temporary until we finally achieve a voluntarist society (http://www.lulu.com/content/2488026).
