Fusion Centers MELTDOWN!! The BIG Picture!
Missouri Apology ~NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
*They are just trying to do 'damage control' with these lame apologies! They realize that if some of these groups or individuals have the cojones to pursue this ...they will be buried in lawsuits and more exposure! They want to keep these centers on the "down-low' until they can get them all FOIA exempt!
PLEASE UNDERSTAND THE BIGGER PICTURE
Many of you are missing the BIG picture here! The 'Fusion Center' in Missouri is just ONE of 70 nationwide( see map in link!) The document is just ONE document that happened to be leaked! They share databases NATIONALLY on federal and state levels!
These centers have recieved funding from the DHS to the tune of $327 million dollars which trickles down to the state and local police, sherriff, state patrol and other agencies which like the idea of getting some of this funding! They need to justify thier funding,activities and purpose by demonizing groups as potential ' domestic terrorists'
But the problem is the 'Fusion Centers' DHS, FBI, NSA etc..cannot serve two masters: it cannot both serve the Constitution and get into the domestic intelligence trenches. Political speech is supposed to be the MOST protected speech under the 1st ammendment!
ACLU and EPIC have documented many cases and filed suits due to over-zealous intelligence gathering due to these fusion centers! In some states the DHS is fighting to have fusion centers exempt from 'Freedom Of Information Act' (FOIA) which, if successful, would then allow no oversight and no recourse for any group or individual to contest abuse!
Under the 911 act the Patriot Act, Military Commissions Act, Loss of Habeus Corpus and the other hideous acts that Bush put in place ...they may well succeed! Please understand..this gives them complete and absolute control over YOU!!
While we have some media coverage, public awareness and outrage on this ...we need to take the opportunity to keep pushing it into the open!

I am going to push this and contact all my state reps, Governor , Senators and spread it to as many sites as possible!! I am outraged over this but it is an opportunity that has attention and I want to PUSH IT and expose it!! I am also going to the anti war groups and others to push it...This is bipartisan and national and should be a unifying issue to advance the waking up to many people to what is happening in this country!!

This subject has all but disappeared from the political conversation, and yet the march against "terrorism" marches on within our country. The whole concept of a terrorist threat is becoming more and more preposterous, and the real reason behind this "war" is becoming obvious to more people: they want to control the population of the United States.
Truly we live in difficult times.

Enact a bunch of laws against terrorists, then just change the definition of what a terrorist is. A lot of us saw this coming.

*If you look at the VIRGINIA link you will see the DHS is pressuring to have that fusion center FOIA exempt!! If they are successful there you can bet the rest of the states will follow ( if they already haven't ) and make the abuses from these agencies free from any oversight or recourse from abuses!!
