Interesting Critique of Ron Paul's Style of Questioning

In summary, when you take up most of your 5 minutes making a speech, you accomplish a lot less, and it lets the witness off the hook.

You know...

they don't have to answer ANY questions. They only show up to keep up the facade that they work with or for the Congress. So, if Ron Paul spent all of his time trying to get answers that they cannot be held to, what value is that? Do we really believe anything 99.9% of those in D.C. provide as answers and promises? No. I believe that Ron Paul's little "educational statements" that he launches are of greater value than 50 questions he might pose in the same time. A statement of truth holds more weight than a lie for an answer.

Dr. Paul isn't just asking a question, he is educating other members of Congress, the media and CSpan watchers about sound economics. As more members of congress start thinking along his lines they can ask pointed questions since its easier to ask a question than it is to make an effective statement. He is leading where others can follow.

My only disagreement with the analysis is that I'm not sure Bachmann "gets it" completely. She is a bit of a hack, although I like her in general.

I agree

This is one area where the Good Doctor can become even more effective.

Great analysis!

There were a lot of Ron Paul supporters saying similar things in the recent video of his questions. I loved the questions about Moral Hazard, but his intro 3 minute speech didn't leave time for questioning. I think people get it by now and Ron doesn't have to say the same thing over and over again. I'd rather see him nail Bernanke and Geitner to expose what fools they are.
