That letter on Fred's site
That letter on the Fredgiving site is just plain BS. I couldn't help taking note of the site's author taking a stab at us by saying we sent in "racist" email addresses. That letter is nothing more that proof that the other guys are scared, and resorting to mud slinging tactics. They can't beat us at our own game, so they resort to sophmorish tactics. I highly doubt that RP supporters took the time to flood "Fredgiving" with false pledges. Sour grapes is what it is. Nothing more.

Why $$$ Matters. Alot.
Here is a direct quote from Pajamas Media:

Whether we like it or not or agree or not, many Americans see how much you've raised as an indication of whether you have a chance to get elected.
That is why it is imperative we go into January sending a loud and strong message with our donations that yes, Ron Paul can win!!

Its now the blame game. How about the American people! They dont want any more neocons! They are free to decide who they want to send money to. To blame the supporters of Ron Paul is a cop out. The American People want real genuine people with this country best intrest at heart elected. I feel sorry for the writer of the letter. Dont you know that Fred Thompson is a member of the CFR? i read the note on Thompson's site - they do not blame us, they express disappointment that Ron Paul's supporters (and only them) would find time to go to their site and ridicule them
I am not sure who commented on their site - but I don't think behaving like high school juniors will win us favors. Don't you people realize that once Thompson drops out, his supporters will look for a candidate to go to?
At some point I thought our aim was to promote Ron Paul's presidency. I am not sure anymore. We do all we can to sink him.
The truth is, to win the presidency we need to win the mainstream people. Go to your local Mall, look around and think: what would these people think if they found that note on the Thompson's site?
But if you don't care about the 08 elections, go ahead, have fun.

You're giving Fred wayy too much credit, if you think criticizing his campaign is going to have any kind of impact on the election.
And why do you automatically assume people you have never met, never talked to are being honest when they say, a. "Ron Paul people are harassing us" or b. "hi, I support Ron Paul and I'm harassing you!" ?
I have not seen any proof, not one shred that the disappointed person who set up Fredsgiving is telling the truth.

Looks like the support is weakening instead of increasing. Do you really believe we can drop 10 millions on Dec. 16th?

We have already beat Nov. 5th in number of subscribers, If we could match that it would already be a success. And most people are donating more. Even matching 4 mil would be great, but it looks like we are near at 5-6 right now. And we still are barely half way there.
Only weakening because its Thanksgiving weekend...
Dont be discouraged by the slowing of donation promises for Dec 16th. It will pick up again after this weekend and things begin to roll again. Also, this is a sign that we need to work even harder for Dec 16th.... $10 Million is our goal and I for one think it will be achieved.... just wait til we get closer and the excitement grows and grows.
Also it would help if people would quite discouraging people with talks of give now, donate to this money bomb or that money bomb, all of which has no organization Like Dec 16th.... believe me - the word is spreading... Dec 16th is going to be AWESOME... dont loose hope and dont loose sight and dont be discouraged, and dont be sidetracked.... At first I thought maybe it's a little out there but after I went to the site and saw Ron Pauls name up on the Blimp well It is kinda of like Nacho Libre and his stretchy pants , they just kinda go together.
I can see that thing rolling into Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. What a talking point. Great publicity stunt. We need publicity now. This would be a great tool I think. Pass the word!!!!

"Slow and Steady" can STILL win a race!
Well all know the tortoise and the hare story and the "moral" of that story.
It's great to see a steady rhythm of giving and I (like others) think we'll hit $10M before the end of November. This "should" help the campaign get over whatever needed ad buys they have to get prior to the December 16th event.
Ron seems to be doing well on the ground in both NH and NV. With the in-fighting going on between Rudy and Mitt's camps in Iowa, both Ron and Mike H. could have a better chance now than before. SC-- who knows...lol? Michigan--we're counting on you college students up there!!! But let's keep things in perspective. Even HQ is sending out the message loud and clear, we need DELEGATES!!! We can raise all the money and popular vote we won't and still lose in the primaries if we don't have delegates on the floor by the national conference in MN next fall.
Make sure you're learning what you need to in order to become a delegate, and at the same time keep up the giving, whether "paced" or "dropped."

If you look at Ron Paul Graphs, we are on track to reach the third best week in donations.
I think we will reach 10 million by the end of the month. 12 million by the Tea Party (that should give another boost in publicity), and another 10 million on the Tea Party.
4th Quarter Goal: 22 Million!
If you are signed up for the Tea Party, try and find 5 more people, then we can reach our goal! (currently 20%, probably 40% factoring in those who don't sign up like on the 5th)
I have found 5 myself already, they will be signing up this week.

I too believe Dec 16th is going to be a $10 Million dollar day... Efforts include emailing meet-up groups (just to make sure they are aware as some missed Nov 5th by lack of knowledge), friends, relatives, posting on websites, AND talk to people while standing in Line for something is great also. I have actually turned to people and said "you look like a nice couple, have you heard of Ron Paul" the shame of it is, alot of them say "No... Who is He?" at which I explain and say google Ron Paul... Everyone has smiled and said thanks, we will he sounds interesting!" and to top that off, I have had maybe 30% of the time, someone in line overhearing and speak up (maybe two couples behind) I *too* am a Ron Paul supporter! which impresses the first couple I spoke too.... that is an awesome situation when you have other people merely listening chime in and endorse also.
To date, I have had NOBODY say, "hey cut the politics" but instead have actually seen them listening in!

Hello! I have been watching and reading about Ron Paul for years now! And I am from Canada! I have been watching and reading this blog for a long time, too, since Paul's last speech in Chicago, which was when I found your site. My heart just pounds for what is going on here and what RP is doing! I love every bit of it. The crescendo of my passion for this great plight in history is reflected in the donation graphs, as well. Keep it strong! I am not allowed to donate, nor am I allowed to vote for Ron, but I pray every day that he gets in to be your President. It would even save Canada! If the US doesn't want RP, we would gladly have him up here. Don't give up, and keep it up, for sure! The world needs Ron Paul!

We've hit $17M for the whole campaign so far, with $9 this quarter. If they were impressed by the $5.3M last quarter and the $4.3M in one day, $9M in this quarter ought to blow them away.
I just worry the Dec 16th stuff is coming way to late for the primaries where it is crucial to do well in order to stay in the race. After that, no amount of money will do us any good and he will be stuck with it.
And what's $17m compared to rest of GOP?
Mike Huckabee would dream of $17 million by Thanksgiving. Equally unknown, and with much less money, he is besting us in the national polls. Money is important to fund the message. But well crafted, smartly planned messages are essential.

Jane, just how much of that $5M raised in the last quarter you think the campaign has spent? Let's be realistic when it comes to funds actually spent....about 50% of the income.

They have spent .48 cents of every dollar raised so I guess about $8M
They've Already Spent it all
They had 5.4 million on hand at the start of this quarter and the campaign already admitted to spending $3.1 of it in October and if you figure that they continue to spend at a higher and faster rate they've already as of today finished their cash on hand from last quarter and spent a couple million of two this quarter. Thence the remaining cash on hand that has been raised this quarter has probably been earmarked to december which is why they need more money now to know that they can spend in January.
Be thankful that the campaign is spending to win!!!

I agree we should be thankful the campaign is spending to win, that's what I donated my money for in the first place.
But...why did the campaign have to "admit" to spending 3.1million in October? I'm just curious as to why they had to admit to spending campaign money. (I personally think that confessions of guilty persons or parties who come clean "Admit" things) Maybe I just took it wrong. Probably so. :O)

admit was a poor choice of word... maybe disclosed or mentioned would have been better. I think admit though sort of captures the essence that campaigns are often quite secretive as to what they are doing so in that sense they 'admitted' what they have spent so far
