Google Ron Paul on Google Earth!

Avery Knapp sends along this picture from Google Earth of the big "Google Ron Paul" rooftop sign in NYC. Type "41 E. 7th St. New York, NY" into Google Earth and this is what you'll see:

Google Ron Paul on Google Earth!

Avery writes, "Thanks to those who helped paint it so many months ago. If you're in the neighborhood, its above this bar:"

(Picture of the bar below.) Thanks Avery, for the memories.

The truth about the rooftop sign

I've been looking at Google Maps every few months for the past 2 years for the sign to show up! It still hasn't. Google Maps doesn't update as frequently.

When I downloaded the new version of Google Earth a few days ago, I searched and found it. But I think its only with the overlay of the city 3-d skyskrapers. Try a clean install of Google Earth.

Also, correction about the bar from the owner of the building:
Wrong bar !!! The rooftop sign is located further down the block from Mcsorleys - at 41 east 7th st. Its above a beer bar called Burp Castle and next door sports bar called Standings.

Also, hope this doesn't disappoint anyone, but it was changed to Google Bob Barr at some later date. Still the movement continues on!

Entered that exact address

scanned the roof tops around it, nothing. Anybody have a better address?

That is awesome!!!

.

Actually...

It wasn't above the Ale House. The Ale House is a block or so West of the building we painted this on. I remember this building all too well, since Avery & I had to lug all of the materials up six flights of narrow winding steps. Glad to see it's still there.

Great job by great patriots!

Great bar!!!

Two beers per order and only two types of beer. Light and dark. Isn't it great when life is that simple?

McSorley's is the coolest

McSorley's is the coolest bar I've ever been in. The place really should be a museum. I'm a little partial since my last name is McSorley, but if you are ever in NYC be sure to check it out. There slogan is "Be Good or Be Gone". Woman were not allowed in until the 1970's.

Woot woot Go Ron Paul!

There is no "I" in "Team" but there is one in LIBERTY!

Peace!

I can see it in Google

Earth, but McSorleys is at:

I don't see it

when I searched google earth just now for it, I couldn't see anything written on the top of the building, there is nothing written there.

MCSORLY'S!! one of the

MCSORLY'S!!

one of the oldest bars in NYC! you have to buy at least 2 beers at a time per order, mandatory! i consider it a privledge to have Ron Paul adorn their roof top, and VICE VERSA!

Those Were The Days

I was once thrown out of the legendary McSorley's years ago for being too rowdy, quite an achievement in that place.

. . . Memories, memories.

It Might Be If I Could Remember It

It was almost thirty years ago. Things are a little hazy.
