What will spark the Revolution?

In all seriousness, I have seen a number of posts on the main page of turning points, calls to action and overall moments of screaming "Im not going to take it anymore".

Because of that, I thought of this post... (my first serious post)

What do you think will spark a revolution in America?

1. Taxation
2. Unfair targeting of Americans? (Think MIAC or Patriot Act)
3. Inflation
4. The feds killing protestors
5. The collapse of the dollar

Thats my first five. Regardless, the path we are on is no different than the path we have followed since the sixties. Only this time we are borrowed to the gills and companies continue to leave because of our government.

So, in your opinion, what do you think will actually start a revolution of ideas or bullets in our country?

I love the freedom of the internet. There is no place else on earth I could ask a large group of people this question... and get a response!

Paul/Schiff/Sanford/Kucinich 2012

Paul (POTUS)
Schiff (Treasury)
Sanford (VP)
Kucinish (Sec. of State)

In all seriousness, RPForums had a Romney supporter that asked to align with us... Maybe we should look at the left and build a coalition that agrees on certain issues and agrees to disagree on others. We all agree the path we are on sucks. That should only motivate and help our cause.

By 2011 we could make a difference. Our movement continues to grow despite the fact the election is over!

Anyway, what defining moment do think COULD happen, to spark a revolution in America?

They are working on shutting this type of comm down.
The rev really kicks into gear when DP is shut down.

What sparks the revolution is not nearly as important as who

will fight it !!!

Just an interesting article found when searching that quotation.

"Of course we will continue to work for cheaper electricity in the homes and on the farms of America. Of course we will continue our efforts for the farmers of America. Of course we will continue our efforts for young men and women. For those unable to walk. For the blind. For the mothers, the unemployed and the aged. We have only just begun to fight."

very interesting...

The Fed and its lackies may all be pretty cold & evil...

But one thing you can guarantee in every instance, they are COWARDS otherwise they would have fired the first shot.....

And their Swine Flu bullshit doesn't fool anybody....Nobody believes in an ultra scam epidemic of superior cloned sheep spreading viruses or garbage like that.

Americans aren't stupid and we're loaded with guns....

The revolution has already been fought

We are still trying to win hearts and minds. Get off the celebrity awe, great candidates will emerge when the government matters again.

It's already in progress....with the heat being turned up

As for the violent revolution.............that day happens when the right to bear arms is INFRINGED because everyone is stocked up on supplies and weapons.

And that could always happen anytime.....but I doubt the Fed will want to test that patience, until the very last minute for them...Makes sense...

Cowards all of them.....

THE PEOPLE ARE NOT COWARDS.....

It's the Fed.....Who's the coward to end all cowards...

No form of revolution

can succeed without a fair percentage of public support.
It doesn't need to be a majority, but it needs to be substantial.
When that happens, then the revolution will happen. And succeed.
Until then, it's bleak.

The american revolution was

The american revolution was started by less than 10% of the populace, critical mass

MARCH ON!!

An Eye for an Eye will ONLY make this world go blind~Ghandi~

We can't see that far into the future

There won't be a revolution, in the traditional sense of the word, anytime soon.

For one thing, most people haven't realized yet how grave the situation is. And those of us who are aware of the problems are prevented by the omniscience of Big Brother from coordinating anything that would actually disturb him...even peaceful protests are becoming riskier all the time.

People aren't even using our potential to do what we legally and safely can to protest and effect change. We are not even gathering in crowds on a massive scale, not even waking our friends from their slumber, not even quitting our jobs in corporations that run this fascist country or preventing our children from joining the military.

As I see it, we are heading into a very dark tunnel and it will be a long, long time before people come into the light again. Maybe after the New World Order has been established and millions have been killed, one way or another, and are microchipped and beaten into total compliance and slavery, something will happen.

Or maybe the global monarch will repent, and dismantle the empire at will.

...the Revolution has already begun...

...and the answer to 1984 is 1776

I would say the Revolution started in 2007.

Whether or not it fizzles and dies depends upon our judgement, wisdom, and ability to resist the misdirections and sophistry of the opposition. Right now the revolution is this movement. The enemy knows it. Chess pieces are being moved around.

One Shot

always has, always will.

The "revolution" will be....

...Newt Gingrich running for president in 2012. That's about it.
He'll promise more of "contract with America" trash and his "conservative" stances and his great work as speaker of the House as he stood against Clinton (yeah, right). He's already positioning himself for the job and no doubt Rush Windbag will provide him plenty time on the air.

Most of the neo-cons will fall for it (as usual) and continue the show the way it has been.

That's the revolution.

Public civil defense

from domestic military occupation.

Politically (9/11, JFK, Patriot Act) and economically (Federal Reserve, banking bailout etc) the die has been cast. Subsequently, violation of the 2nd Amendment is a serious offense

Two things, dollar collapse and federal brutality

A rapid collapse of the dollar will anger most Americans and there will be tax revolts and protests. The feds will use force against these people and their brutality will be exposed on the Internet, driving most Americans to oppose the feds. This will precipitate minor acts of sabotage that will bring reprisals from the feds and things will escalate to a full-out guerrilla war. There will be desertions from the US military, including brass, and the feds will bring in foreign troops to buttress their position. At that point many holdouts will join the citizen effort and the tables will rapidly turn against the feds.

Or not. The populace will be chemically subdued and led to slaughter like sheep.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

Sad to say none of these

1 to 4 have happened in the past, and have not sparked a revolution. 5 has happened in other countries, and has caused significantly increased crime rates, but no real revolution.

What has caused a revolution in the US in the past was regionalism - one part of the country being very different in views, and economics from another part. The closest thing today is Urban vs Rural.

Also, if on-line communities develop with very different sets of values, and began to act on those values, you could also get a revolution if the on-line group is big enough. There is a tiping point, when the conflict between values of the government and values of the community would be great enough to cause disruption but I am not sure what the number would be.

“In the name of the best within you, do not sacrifice this world to those who are its worst. In the name of the values that keep you alive, do not let your vision of man be distorted by the ugly, the cowardly, the mindless in those who have never achieved his title. Do not lose your knowledge that man's proper estate is an upright posture, an intransigent mind and a step that travels unlimited roads. Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it's yours.”

5

I would say 5.

Definitely #5 collaspe of the dollar. Most of us "seasoned

citizens" ( old farts) live on a fixed income. And I believe that many old farts are Neocons or belivers in the government status. When the dodo drops on their pocketbooks they will wake up but it will probably be to late. At least at that time they may be able to listen to reason and common sense economics and vote to insure stability.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BOK_Tower

BOK Tower, formerly One Williams Center, is a skyscraper in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. At 203 m (667 ft) in height, the 52-story tower is the tallest building in any of the five "Plains States": Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota, as well as the surrounding states of Missouri, Arkansas and New Mexico.[1] It was built in 1975 and designed by Minoru Yamasaki & Associates, the same architect who designed the World Trade Center in New York. This structure is very similar to the WTC towers in appearance and construction. BOK Tower's lobby has marble walls and wall hangings which have a noted similarity to the decor in the former WTC. The similarities between the BOK Tower and the World Trade Center Towers are based upon the building's history. The tower was built for the Williams Companies, at the time of its construction it the CEO of Williams (John Williams) was impressed by the Twin Towers in New York. His original idea was to build four small-scale replicas of the towers in Tulsa. However, prior to the actual construction, he was informed of the inefficiencies that would be created from having 25 story towers on the small foot prints he had in mind with the required elevators. The plan for a quarter scale replica was then changed to a single tower a quarter the foot print of a trade center tower but double the height of the four planned towers.[citation needed]
The construction of the BOK Tower is the same as was used for the Trade Center Towers. As of August 2006 BOK Tower is undergoing $16 million in repairs and renovations.[2] About $6 million is going toward renovated pedestrian bridges, granite coating for the base, new fitness centers, and windows. The remaining $10 million is being used to fix damage from a flood in December.
BOK Tower is headquarters of BOK Financial Corporation.
