Obama issues warning as North Korea readies rocket
WASHINGTON – As North Korea fueled a multistage rocket Thursday for its threatened satellite launch, President Barack Obama promised a "stern" response and Japan vowed to press for an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council. Senior U.S. defense officials said that trailers and vehicles carrying rocket propellant were in place at North Korea's coastal launch site and that fueling had begun.
A U.S. counter-proliferation official said the fueling process could take "up to a few days." But a senior U.S. intelligence official told The Associated Press that Pyongyang was on track for a projected Saturday launch

The earth is only 25,000 miles around at the equator, so where you even got 40,000 I don't know.
We don't know the range of the rocket, so for you to say how far it goes is BS because no one really knows. Fully loaded with a 3-stage liftoff system, it could have the potential to hit aprox.over 4,000 miles but since the last one they tried failed, we don't know for sure.

Let's take a look at this for a minute .
The Koreans have been planning this launch for weeks right ? everyone knows about it. Yet the media tells people that this is somehow a threat and they keep saying it and saying it a lot. The U.S. and Russia have nukes that can reach anywhere in the world at the push of a button and they don't have to advertise it.
The Koreans are hardly a threat yet this is being spread around like its some terrible thing ? Think about it . They could start yet another ground war and use this missile launch to justify more oil pipelines and occupation.
Most americans will sadly fall for this.

Then the guy they were interviewing said something like, "The last time they tried this it blew up on the launch pad and another time with a weaker rocket landed short in the ocean."

Silly Games In the Far East
I doubt anything will come of this. If, as claimed, North Korea are launching a satellite, then they have the right under international law. If they're lying and really testing a long range missile, then at least they have alerted the world of their intentions this time, unlike in 1998 and 2006.
More likely, North Korea are doing this to win more concessions at the next diplomatic meeting with the west. Also, South Korea are preparing to launch a satellite later in the year, so it looks like a mini space race is getting started over there.
I know what Ron Paul would say; America should close down their military bases in the region, pull back their warships and leave the area. I am 100% behind that idea. Why is America still occupying South Korea by the way?
