Now that we have had time to think about our actions...
Submitted by Laddyboy13 on Fri, 11/23/2007 - 12:42How do people feel about the big debate that took place three days ago when the campaign asked for our help and we answered? Do those that were against donating on the spur of the moment still feel the same way? We are near 20,000 pledges for the Tea Party with three weeks to go. It doesn't look like "everyone pledged their Dec 16thmoney". In fact, it looks like 12/16 may be bigger than 11/5. To those that donated, do you feel good for having done so?

i encouraged people to give,
i encouraged people to give, but also to not discourage the Dec 16th drive, which many people seemed to be doing. i don't think it hurts for various people to make arguments against the drive, but it definitely could hurt if Mr Bydlak and Dan at ronpaulgraphs and Trevor Lymans make comments that tend to diminish the enthusiasm of the event (which none did explicitly, but all 3 did in roundabout ways).
if people become convinced that others are bailing and it might not make a big splash after all, then they will be far less excited and committed to donating. then there will be a net loss to the campaign because a lot of people will only donate for gimmicks like the one-day money bombs.
i think that everything is fine and Dec 16th will be huge, as long as we don't get more official or semi-official denouncements of it.

We will continue to give
I gave money when the campaign asked and we saw that jump of about $500,000. I will also be giving $100 (maybe 200) on Nov. 30th in accordance with the http://rudysreadinglist.com/ movement.
Finally, I will be giving $200 on Dec. 16th.
I'm sure there are a lot of supporters who will be doing something similar (donating to all the movements).
Over all, I'm hoping we get over 8 million on Dec. 16th.
Yep
Sounds like something I'll be doing.
I think that what went on
I think that what went on here was a good example of the "cat herding" principle that governs this campaign for Dr. Paul. Everybody threw out their view and being mostly freedom-loving individualists, they sometimes got a little strident. But THIS herd of cats is all heading in the same direction anyway, so the upshot of it was the campaign got their money right away AND the tea party site continued to grow at the same time! WHEE! Are Ron Paul supporters THE BEST, or WHAT???
