Rand Paul Speaks to Knob Creek Machine Gun Shootout
Saturday Morning, April 4th, Rand Paul spoke to gun owners and activists in Knob Creek, KY. Several thousand gun enthusiasts attended the shootout. Here are Dr. Paul's remarks.
Below is a written approximation of his remarks.

Guns and Politicians
You know how to tell when a politician is lying? When his lips are moving!
Politicians often give lip service to the 2nd Amendment but then go off to Washington and vote to restrict gun ownership.
How many politicians professed to support Gun rights and then voted for the Brady bill? How many politicians claim they are supporters of the 2nd amendment and then vote to restrict handguns?
We need to send people to Washington that not only understand the 2nd amendment but the entire Bill of Rights. How many supposedly pro-Gun politicians supported the McCain-Feingold Act which makes it illegal for gun rights groups to buy advertising criticizing a federal legislator for voting for gun control. Apparently, these fair-weather friends don't believe the 1st amendment applies to paid political speech.
How many supposed pro-gun politicians voted for the Patriot Act which gives the government the right to search your home without a warrant, when you're not home, leave listening devices, and use any and all information to create a prosecution on any charge regardless of their original reason for the search.
Gun rights advocates need to know that the 2nd amendment is only as good as the fourth amendment. If we are not free from unreasonable and warrantless searches, no one's guns are safe.

His Dad taught him well! I'm
His Dad taught him well! I'm certainly glad to see him hitting the stump. I've seen him speak at several places but I never thought I would have seen him at America's largest machine gun shoot. This family walks the walk!
From one Patriot to another....Thanks and hold to your guns! "Pun intended"
Rand if you got your Father to Iowa full time

seems like a fine place to live
Senators and Congressman need a huge payraise.
I'd like to see Congressman make $500K and Senators make 1 Mil per year. The more you pay the more competition and the better employees you'll get. I'm sure Rand would be taking a huge pay cut to become a senator. That's the main reason we'll never see Peter Schiff become a senator.
Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes the laws - Mayer Amschel Rothschild
That's funny, I was thinking
That's funny, I was thinking of taking the opposite approach. You want a life in politics? Forget about getting well connected and enriched, how about taking a vow of poverty? Obviously capitalism is the best system, but as we have seen, the free market can't be protected under the watch of greedy politicians out for their own self interest. How about removing the glamorization and making politicians civil servants in the literal sense?
I don't buy that a higher salary will create more competition. Holding office is about the power and the connections, not the salary. Elected officials are routinely enriched upon their departure from office. Make politicians live by the Constitution as the priesthood lives by the bible, and we might find that the Constitution is actually enforceable.
Good One, Thanks For Posting!

awesome
Jim Bunning is a grumpy old dinosaur. I don't think Bunning is a bad guy, but I wish he would make may for the next generation.
If Rand wins Kentucky, we have our presidential candidate for 2012.
That would be incredible, to
That would be incredible, to have another real GOP candidate. While I am a big Ventura fan, if I thought we had a principled candidate in the GOP I would support that road in a heartbeat.

I'm glad to see Rand
is putting forth an effort even though he is still undeclared. I'd almost like to move to Kentucky to vote for him. But then, I'd like to move anywhere that gets me out of New Jersey.
