This is what I spent Friday night doing

I was making posters for the Lexington Rally. I finished the the black layer at around midnight. I'll do the red layer tomorrow. I printed 35, but there will be some waste (screwups) - I'll probably end up with about 30.

It was a little difficult as I ended up slicing the tip of my left thumb off the other day as I was cutting paper. Yikes! Blood everywhere. Not a bad wound - I only lost about 1/8 of an inch - but painful, and has left me gimpy. I'm like the one armed man without the use of my left thumb. Coincidentally, it was the same day that Aphrodite posted the "I need medical help" thread, which was a great help to me as well.

I'm giving about 10 of these posters away - one to all of the speakers, and some to friends. 4 have been purchased, so that leaves 16 left for sale. I won't be selling any at the event, as its not allowed per the town of Lexington! Permits, permits! So this is your only chance to get one of the 16 that will ever be produced!

This is what I spent Saturday afternoon doing - Finishing the red layer. Looks like I'll have about 30 good ones.

spent Fri night doing website updates,etc..and referring the customer svs rep to check out Daily Paul..

BTW--just a thought ...if you have any posters left over at the event.. perhaps you can get them signed by the speakers... then sell those (even at a premium..) Some ,or all, of those speakers may become legendary.. you never know..

Looks good. I like the double exclamation from a design point. Looks like a Hatch Show print. Im a painter / printer and show in Nashville with Jim Sherridan who runs Hatch. Good looking poster. I ordered a calender from you a couple weeks ago and it looks great...hanging in my office right now.

Kent, that is so awesome. I love the Hatch Show prints. Even though these are silk screened, I'm basically going for that letterpress look.

I love this book, (which I'm sure you're familiar with) for inspiration and to get the real feel of the show prints. This poster is basically a variation on the one I did for the Boston Tea Party 2008 .

I don't know about the exclamation point ahead of the word Rally!

If you were writing in Spanish, that would obviously be the way to go, but for an English poster, I would go with the proper convention.

Just me.
