I do apologize
At a "christian" site I have frequented for years, many of them in agreement with the views of the majority (this has changed) they were bashing bama for "apologizing". Well bama sucks, in the same way his predecessor did, however one individual proclaimed. "I DON'T apologize". My response, brief through I could have gone on and on:
I do.
I apologize that we export smut around the world which the world sees as our values.
I apologize that we export Rambo films which the world sees as our values.
I apologize for our clandestine operations that have fueled wars, insurrections, coups, murders and mayhem.
I apologize for the genocide of the indigenous people here in the US through gem warfare, (intentional smallpox infections) to sterilization without consent in the seventies.
I apologize for providing Saddam Hussian the weapons to gas Kurds.
I apologize to the millions who will face generations of consequences from exposure to DU.
I apologize to the Indian farmer duped into buying Monsanto's GM seed only to end in bankruptcy and suicide.
I apologize for 50 million dead children torn limb from limb in the safety of the womb.
About two years ago the veil was lifted from my eyes. What we have allowed under the watch of "christians" as a "christian" nation is vile and we deserve the very judgment of God upon our shores.

Funny, when you think about it ?
If Jesus returned today - he would be an Orthodox Jew.
Perhaps
or maybe a Messianic Jew
Christianity is not a democracy of majority rules! Religion...
I thought was a way of living with a set of black and white rules, not shades of gray, uncertainty, and indecisiveness.
Do we have mob rule in Christianity, votes of yeas and nays that determine consensus opinions, which are considered to be correct? I didn't think so. Some things cannot be changes easily by an individually, but voicing opposition is still allowed.
What if Christians actually
What if Christians actually promoted peace?
Actually, I do not apologize. I took part in none of those things and America is the most generous, giving nation on earth. If I were you, I would focus on that. You are not responsible for the atrocities that some have committed in our name. We are trying to prevent anything more from happening, but do we really have any control over that? If the electorate is dumb and stupid or just plain evil how can we compete with that?
I am feeling depressed toady and I don't want to end up old and wrinkly from the stress of trying to get idiotic Americans to wake up. Go ahead and bash me. I feel like giving up.
I apologize, too,
for a nation that has permitted the murder of nearly 3,000 people to go unsolved and uninvestigated while the question of what happened to the remains of 1,151 of those people who were never found to remain unanswered. I apologize that our nation permitted the subsequent invasion of two countries in violation of our Constitution and what remains of our morality.
What can we conclude about the morality of a nation that abides this? Just as law of the conservation of momentum cannot be wished away, neither can the law of karma be ignored away. Karma will play itself out in this nation...and we ain't seen nuthin' yet.
christians (lower case C) have been to lazy
to read and study the Bible for themselves and rely instead on others to tell them what the doctrine is.
The Christian (upper case C) doctrine has been so corrupted by christians (lower case C). That they think it is perfectly acceptable to kill folks preemptively and to torture others. The reason that so many folks in church
have no need in their minds to apologize is because they never crack open the Bible and study for themselves.

Good response
I, too, feel the same way. I don't know why Christians (so called) have such a pompous attitude about so many things.

WOW! GREAT response!
I have often said of late that Americans have gone from being honest, hard working people of good will..... a mostly God fearing and charitable nation... to a NATION OF PIRATES. We feel it is just dandy to KILL, RAPE and PILLAGE to get what we want..... "OUR oil" is an expression that just makes me grit my teeth every time it is uttered. I hope that you get responses..... although I would imagine you will get some doozies as many many Christians have become blood thirsty pirates. I do pray for their souls.
By the way, you should check out this guy for all sorts of wonderful articles and podcasts on Christianity and war. http://www.lewrockwell.com/vance/vance-arch.html
