My sister went to prison this week, got sentenced to 6 years

0 votes

I am in shock. She got hooked on oxycodone, percocets, and vicadins a few years back after a car accident. She was up around ten pills a day, and I guess the final two weeks before her arrest, started to sniff heroine.

She met a girl in a doctor's office who was calling in fake prescriptions, and feeding my sister her pills, while my sister brought her the money profited back to her. They got nailed for 280,000 pills, that is not a typo. Anyway, she got clean, been clean for a year and four months, found a good job, found a good man, and wham! she got a six year mandatory minimum sentence.

It is like I took the red pill now, and got punched in the face on top of it all. They sent my dad to Nam in the sixties, he spent two tours there, and came back pretty nuts, anyway he came home not the nicest guy in the world. He freaks my mom out, she has a nervous breakdown, and never recovers, ends up in a mental hospital for the rest of her life.

His daughter (my sister) grows up in this environment, turns out she likes how the drugs fill the hole, gets hooked, and gets sent away to prison by the same system that sent her dad to Nam and pretty much creates the problem and solves it by throwing them away.

They fight all these wars, and push all this garbage on t.v. in our face for profit, and then when we get messed up or screw up, they create prisons to remedy the problems they are the cause of.

Imagine an income tax free society where people got everything they earned, and were able to afford a good lifestyle for their family, imagine a war free world, where the post traumatic stress disorder wouldn't be brought home to destroy the stability of future offsprings ' abilities to cope with the world. The collateral damage of these wars lasts for generations, the heroes of today spread the seeds for the criminals of tomorrow in many cases.

A corrupt system puts corrupt people and probably the least corrupt of people away in prisons, while the elites commit crimes and sip fancy wines and eat the best of foods. We are like leftovers to these people, running our country for the most part. I am beyond devastated by what has happened to my sister, she was an addict who got clean and turned her life around, and the system took that away and put her with the rejects of society. The rejects that are too often created by greed and power and control, the collateral damage of the elite's world empire.

I am getting pushed to the edge by this system, I hope OUR day of reckoning will come, when we will all stand together and take our country back. Right now they got me in my achilles heal, if my sister is not free, I am also a prisoner.

I feel your pain

My son who has Schizophrenia and Bipolar is sitting in Jail waiting tor a court date on three felony charges that carry a min. sentence of 3 years to a max. sentence of 60 years for delivering Marijuana.
He lives at home with us because he was not able to care for himself but I made the mistake of letting him buy a car and he hooked up with some old friends from school and they used him to deliver their drugs and got him to put their darn light bill into his name and ran up a $900 bill.
Not that this really matters to the police but it shows his vulnerability.
They are free and he is sitting in jail facing prison time.

The county sent him to the D & E which is the intake for the prison to be held until his court date.(they are not allowing bail)
So he is in with inmates being processed into prison and subject to all the same restrictions. He couldn't talk to his lawyer for the first week and a half until they approved him, nor could he make a phone call from there for the first week and a half until they approved my phone number. And I'm still waiting for them to approve me so I can go see him.

What state do you live in?

First time marijuana offenders in most states is probationable. You need to get a good lawyer, that is the key. Best of luck to you with this system that is so corrupted. I will be praying for you all.

Sad but maybe good in the end

I feel your pain having struggled with the "diease of addiction "myself, However I have many friends who found the the message of "one addict helping another, to stay clean one day at a time" while in an instatution. The disease of addiction is a life long struggle and I have found experiance strength and hope thru N.A. I have 3 years clean I go to meetings, have a sponsor and work my steps. Miricles happen for addicts who surrender to thier God of their own understanding and doors open that for some reason were not ther before. I pray for your sister that she my find the same Happiness I found

"War is a racket". That goes double for the "Drug War".

The drug war creates an army of tax-feeding bureaucrats and goons. Instead of deterring drug use, it creates pushers.

Handsome state-generated profits exist for both legal pushers wearing white coats and gang members who kill each other for territory.

We can no more abolish recreational drug use and self-medication than we can abolish sex.

Alcohol prohibition was a well-documented epic fail. Why can't people see the same applies to street drugs and non-prescribed meds?

Tog, if it was my sister, I'd be mad as hell. But I'd still want to use that anger constructively. How about an anti-prohibition blog, website or campaign in her name?

Tog.. May I ask you to

Tog.. May I ask you to please present some court links to your sister?
I would stand proud to assist her if I knew where to send the assistance.
Do you have any further communications concerning her?
I also noticed the following quote...

They fight all these wars, and push all this garbage on t.v. in our face for profit, and then when (we) get messed up or screw up, they create prisons to remedy the problems they are the cause of.

The word (we) above, from your own words......
Does this mean that you also are messed up or screwed up?
I really need to know if I am going to sit in the jury.(meaning...help you).

I am not in a bad way

just feeling crappy about the situation.

there's help for this:

I'm sorry to hear about your sister's being in a bad way, and was particularly struck by this paragraph:

"His daughter (my sister) grows up in this environment, turns out she likes how the drugs fill the hole, gets hooked, and gets sent away to prison by the same system that sent her dad to Nam and pretty much creates the problem and solves it by throwing them away."

There is an organization called The Foundation for Human Understanding ~ www.fhu.com ~ that has been in existence for many years teaching how to overcome the "life sucks" syndrome. It's a simple message that when put into practice literally turns life around. A particularly good place to start is with the article "What you should know about being Upset." http://fhu.com/articles/being_upset.html

First off

thank you all for your great comments, and sympathy. When you grow up in a broken home, the bond you create with your siblings becomes like a wheel, and each one a spoke. When one spoke is missing the wheel simply does not run smoothly. You learn to depend on eachother for everything, as you also learn to help eachother and sacrifice for eachother any way you can, even at risk of yourself. My sister was a person who was always there for me, and one of the last things she said to me was Tim, you have to help me get out of here. In the past, I have always been able to find a way for her, as she always did for me. Now I feel I have to find a way to get her out. I am religious, I believe in God, even though I have had not many breaks in life, I still find ways to believe there is a light of hope and a reason for the suffering. My sister also believes, but she is not as devoted to following it. I used to be the guy that said kill those terrorists, kill their families, whatever it takes. I used to be the guy that believed in the system, in the prison system, in the war on drugs, in the government. My eyes have been opened over the past year and a half, and I fully realize how corrupt it is, even down to the criminals of society. I am thankful for all the advice you all have given, it is too often we are able as human beings to not care about what happens to people we don't know or have never met, so the fact that you all care tells me there is still hope for this world. We have learn to become desensitized to situations that do not effect us, I for one am guilty of this fact. It seems to me we have some really great people on this site, people that are true leaders and great thinkers. I hope when we meet the challenges ahead, we will all find a leadership position in the political and civilian areas of life dominated by corruption. We are what our founding fathers once were, we are going to be the only ones that can truly be counted on to stop this madness. We have the balance of the whole world depending on us, I hope in the end we are victorious. If by some chance we are not, we can still hold our heads up high and continue on to the grips of death together. In the end this fight may cost us all of our lives, but what better way is there to go? I for one cannot think of any better way. Thank you all, you have made a huge contribution to my life.

This really sucks that she

This really sucks that she is going to prison but I can't say she isn't blameless. What I think is a shame is how a person can hate themselves so much that they drown themselves in to drug abuse. The drug abuse is the symptom of the problem which is hatred for yourself. Until someone comes to the realization that they are the SOLE reason why their life sucks then they can't get help. I went through the drug use/ abuse for quite a while trying to cover up my crappy life. I came to the conclusion my life was crappy because I had a crappy outlook on life. You can be negative all the time which will affect everything around You or You can act positive and it will affect everything around You. I used to blame my parents for my crappy life which is ok when You are young but when You become a adult You are responsible for all Your problems. Most people never realize this and never grow up emotionally. As a matter of fact look at the divorce rate in this country and it will tell You how many children are running around in adult bodies.

Sorry to hear about your sister

This shows very clearly how this country has taken the wrong path. We need to keep pushing for freedom and real change.

You can pretty much understand Congress when you think of the Democrats as the Genoveses and the Republicans as the Gambinos. - Michael Ruppert (paraphrase)

Drugs are a big problem

the real drug dealers are the corporations. all the real alternatives are silenced and we're left to choose from rubbish toxic medications.

I said NO to the medical industry 4 yrs ago and have never looked back. man did they make me sick i canned all medications given to me and seeked only alternatives that actually turned my life around. Neurofeedback was one of the best things i ever came across. youtube it it may help you too. simply amazing stuff yet is largely ignored by mainstream medicine. practitcally a cure for mental illness.

Your sister should quit abusing

For her own sake. That's obvious and that's the ONLY problem. A helping hand and some kindess and caring might do the trick.

The guys with guns and batons handle it like every other highly complex problem...slamming the cage door for a while or worse.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Rewiring this Government is possible. It starts with peoples minds. Keep sending out the message and do your best to improve your effectiveness. That's the tool we still have. In the right hands, a solid message is impossible to overcome.

it is a spiritual battle

we are actually all prisoners on this planet.....
gradual change occurs....just came from WeAreChange dvd give away in downtown Toronto.

If we can inform enough people in time we will prevail.

Agreed

Pretty much the same.

I did want to add 1 thing. The OP tripped a memory of an old song.

Institutionalized, by Suicidal Tendencies

"How can you know what's my best interest is?
How can you say what my best interest is?
What are you trying to say, I'm crazy?
When I went to your schools, I went to your churches, I went to your institutional learning facilities?!
So how can you say I'm crazy?"

I feel for you...dam

The people have been subjugated to the worst things imaginable. Phony wars that slash the hearts, minds and economy of "we the people."

Our government is extreme in growing and sustaining the greatest prison population of any country - including communists and totalitarians.

We long ago abandoned rehabilitation - helping people become productive again. When W was governor of Texas, he increased all mandatory first offense sentences to the extreme. His response was that "incarceration IS rehabilitation" even though it cost Texas taxpayers hundreds of millions.

One good thing is that depending on your state, they will not be able to afford to keep non-violent criminals in prison much longer. Dam; I feel bad for you and your sister. Rest assured, the fine people of this blog will be inspired by your words to help build a growing solidarity.

Sounds like severe punishment for a motor offence

AT least they cannot blame her for the financial accident perpitrated on ALL of us..
you-no

Well, you now understand our system perfectly!

It is of evil, by evil and for evil. This is actually the result of atheistic materialism (capitalism), which thrives on greed.

Do you and/or your sister have faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ? That is the first thing you absolutely need to get through this with your sanity intact. Otherwise, the system will get you through hatred, as it did your father.

Christ was persecuted unjustly and He warned us that His followers would not be treated any better. To suffer unjustly for Christ's sake makes all the difference. It turns our suffering into a sacrifice ... which has great merit with God and offers true peace of soul. (Protestantism, for the most part, misses the boat on this).

God is not mocked though He is sometimes slow to act (according to our reckoning). He wiped out all but 8 people in Noah's time, and we are probably much worse today. It took Noah more than 100 years to build the ark, but when it was ready, God acted decisively.

I think our ark is about ready.

The first think you must do is get down on your knees and pray for guidance. Then, I recommend you seek out a traditional Catholic priest for help and guidance. You may have to search for one these days, but when you find him he will help you greatly.

I will pray for your family. Please realize that everything that happens to us ... even bad ... is permitted by God for our own good. True Christians, when handed a lemon, always make lemonade! There is a silver lining in this suffering. Following God is the way to discover it.

You and your family are in my prayers. God bless you. To reinforce what I've said, you might want to view Mel Gibson's beautiful movie, The Passion of the Christ. No one suffered more than our Lord did to save us. I hope it will inspire you to rise above your enemies too.

BS plain and simple

No one should be locked up for any drug use period. We have to all band together and fight this nazi police state for good people with substance abuse problems are sent to prison and come out of it not rehabilitated but angry with their lives destroyed, job, home and family. Now you have invented another criminal by treating good people the same as violent criminals. This cycle must stop and it will not stop peacefully.
REVOLUTION NOW!

Too many American adults are on prescription pain-killers.

our elected leaders should be tested for them.

That is so sad

and there but for the grace of god go I. I was in a bad car accident 3 years ago. My first doctor would not prescribe me anything for the pain. I tried physical therapy, chiro care, nothing helped. So I started drinking a lot of wine after dinner, Every day I was just in tremendous pain, taking way too many aleve, and holding out til 6pm so I could have wine and get numb. I finally changed doctors, my new doctor started me on 200mg ultram, and I have detoxed down to 25mg twice a day. He told me to continue that many aleve would blow my kidneys. I have to journal my pain intensity and how many pills I take and bring my documents to my doctor, just to cover his ass. He is also afraid of DEA. I found out my first doctor had been the defendant in a lawsuit regarding meds, so i now know why he wouldn't prescribe anything.
BUT, my neck pain is permanent and I need a permanent solution. So unfair. My neck never fused back together properly so now I am pre-arthritic.
I hope the best for your sister, I hope she can overcome all of this craziness. If she had been able to find a doctor willing to treat her chronic pain, it might have all worked out.

On another note, regarding your father: my father was in Korea, and my first husband was a paratrooper in the Congo. Both of these men are so harsh, void of compassion, emotionally unintelligent. I hate war. Not for just the pointless violence, but also for the everlasting effects that the military men have to live with.

I wish all the best for you,
Robyn
