One thing I never understood...

Why did the early colonists choose a serpent to represent them? Usually serpents represent evil as in Satan in the Garden of Eden.

I like the words, "Don't tread on me", But would rather a picture of a gun and the words, "Don't step on me, or else!"

Anyone know the answer to my first question?

Had mine up a few weeks ago. I have a large collection and I rotate.
Yesterday had up the Soviet flag for Yuri Gagarin.
Just moments ago switched it out with the Betsy Ross for Thomas Jefferson.
I think I'll put up one of my cheesy pirate flags for the 15th ("Surrender the Booty").

I actually wanna design my own version of it. I have a feeling that when the collapse comes I'm going to have to step up to the plate in my area. Maybe a make-shift militia.
