You are being lied to about the pirates

In 1991, the government of Somalia collapsed. Its nine million people have been teetering on starvation ever since – and the ugliest forces in the Western world have seen this as a great opportunity to steal the country's food supply and dump our nuclear waste in their seas.

Yes: nuclear waste. As soon as the government was gone, mysterious European ships started appearing off the coast of Somalia, dumping vast barrels into the ocean. The coastal population began to sicken. At first they suffered strange rashes, nausea and malformed babies. Then, after the 2005 tsunami, hundreds of the dumped and leaking barrels washed up on shore. People began to suffer from radiation sickness, and more than 300 died.

Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah, the UN envoy to Somalia, tells me: "Somebody is dumping nuclear material here. There is also lead, and heavy metals such as cadmium and mercury – you name it." Much of it can be traced back to European hospitals and factories, who seem to be passing it on to the Italian mafia to "dispose" of cheaply. When I asked Mr Ould-Abdallah what European governments were doing about it, he said with a sigh: "Nothing. There has been no clean-up, no compensation, and no prevention."

At the same time, other European ships have been looting Somalia's seas of their greatest resource: seafood. We have destroyed our own fish stocks by overexploitation – and now we have moved on to theirs. More than $300m-worth of tuna, shrimp, and lobster are being stolen every year by illegal trawlers. The local fishermen are now starving. Mohammed Hussein, a fisherman in the town of Marka 100km south of Mogadishu, told Reuters: "If nothing is done, there soon won't be much fish left in our coastal waters."

I dunno...

I think its pretty straight forward. They're hungry. Boat goes by. They hijack. After a few successes they realize that they have a lucrative business so they get organized and start forming crews. I dont discount the information youre posting- I just think that in most cases the attacks are just what we're being told they are. Dont get me wrong- we're be lied to also, no doubt- but the Nigerians have 411 scams (MY RIC UNCLE LEAVE ME THE PRINCES WITH 3.9 SHOOBY-DOBILLION DOLARS US FOR TRANSFR TO BANK ACOOUNT) and the Somalians have the pirateering racket.

I don't believe Chris Brown hurt Rihanna either

Just like Michael Jackson and Britanny Spears, Chris Brown/Rihanna had everything going for them, then BOOM, something happens, like they fall from grace and are attacked relentlessly. I really don't believe the stories about any of the celebrities any more.

They seem like the most controlled people in the world...slaves.

You all should really watch the entire The Arrival series on YouTube...I don't believe everything in them, but they are food for thought.

black people don't count

well isn't it obvious? black people don't count! i mean holy sh*t, if black people counted, we'd have to admit america is a fascist police state!

America: three fifths of a police state, excluding indians not taxed.

Ethiopia /USA/ Somali Pirates’ Cover-up

by Thomas C. Mountain
Global Research, April 16, 2009

ASMARA, Eritrea — One of the best kept secrets in the international media these days is the link between the USA, Ethiopia and the Somali pirates. First, a little reliable background from someone on the ground in the Horn of Africa.

The Somali pirates operate out of the Ethiopian and USA created enclaves in Somalia calling themselves Somaliland and Puntland. These Ethiopian and USA backed warlord controlled territories have for many years hosted Ethiopian military bases, which have been greatly expanded recently by the addition of thousands of Ethiopian troops who were driven out of southern and central Somali by the Somali resistance to the Ethiopian invasion.

After securing their ransom for the hijacked ships the Somali pirates head directly to their local safe havens, in this case, the Ethiopian military bases, where they make a sizeable contribution to the retirement accounts of the Ethiopian regime headed by Meles Zenawi.

I think it has something to do with 'Atlas Shrugged'.

Seriously. The New World Order is the modern incarnation of the corporate-socialist looter state in Atlas Shrugged. That order was assaulted by modern-day pirates in the book, if you'll recall.

When does MSM and the Govt.

tell the truth?

I'm not saying the Somalis aren't being 'dumped' on but

explain why anyone is taking seafood out of those seas when it is supposedly known to be contaminated with nuclear waste?

If European countries are dumping nuclear and heavy metal industrial waste off the coast of Somalia, and THEN FISHING THOSE WATERS, won't that just guarantee that anyone eating that stuff would have a significant risk of illness?

Kinda seems like it's one or the other, but not both. Maybe the poster didn't explain things correctly.

That's probably the whole purpose

feed us contaminated fish.

I just cut & paste from the

I just cut & paste from the article referenced.

However, I don't think fishermen would care if the fish they caught was poisonous. Not as long as they could sell it, that is.

If the Italians, say, are dumping the waste, the French may not even be aware of it. But like I said, even if they were, they probably wouldn't care if they were just going to sell it to China. It might be different if they were going to sell it in the domestic market, but then again, maybe not. They might just tell their families & friends not to eat fish. After all fishermen have families to provide for as well. Sad but true.

There is no such thing as ethics or compassion in business - at least not on this scale. Remember what the Godfather said - "Nothing personal - it's just business."

He's the man.

I just can't understand

I was on so many different ships when I was in the Marines I honestly can't remember them all. Everything from LST's to LPH's.

When we had to go over the side down cargo nets on APA's and AKA's, it was not a walk in the park getting into the landing crafts. I can only imagine trying to get back on without a cargo net over the side. Which begs the question, how can a bunch of boogies in a 12 foot boat get aboard any sizable ship when they don't want them too ? Are they lowering an accommodation ladder for them to come aboard ?

Yeah, yeah, I know, what if they have RPG's and you are on an oil tanker, you are screwed, but ships hauling food and tanks, what am I missing ?

Side note: I think every ship should have shoulder fielded rockets to knock out any 12 foot pirate boat that threatens them. And what ever happened to the WW II escorted convoy approach for safety in numbers ?

I read an article about the

I read an article about the Indonesian pirates. If I remember correctly the pirates would stick bamboo poles up the side of the boat and shimmy up the bamboo. When I was in s.e asia I watched many locals shimmy up coconut trees with bare feet and a 1 ft length of rope held in each hand around the tree.

This kind of stuff goes on ALL THE TIME

all over the world, and not just to American ships. Listen to Alex Jones' interviews with captain Kelly Sweeney. So why are we now getting bombarded with this story 24/7? These days it's pretty safe to say that anything the old media spews forth with such ferocity is covering up the real story.

Let me see if I have this right...

...people from the same countries that are allegedly dumping highly toxic materials in the sea off Somalia are also harvesting it's 'abundant' sealife for food?

Sounds like someone's eating where they sh!t to me. Nature has a way of solving that problem, I've observed.

lol ...

according to a quick google

according to a quick google conversion the coastline of Somalia is 3,898 kilometers which is 2,422 miles. So no you do not exactly have this right. Also there is information readily available on the web that corroborates both the dumping of waste and the illegal fishing.

I love playing along.

Really? So how far away from fishing grounds would it be safe to dump a ton of depleted fuel rods? What if I needed to dispose of some mercury or cadmium? How far away would I need to be to harvest fish 'safely'? Cause there's no way hazardous waste could travel all those 2,422 miles, right? Ocean currents don't go that far, and couldn't possibly carry contaminants along with them, could they?

There is no reason to be

There is no reason to be indignant I'm just pointing out that the coastline isn't nearly as tiny as most people think. Of course ALL the contamination around the world affects everyone and everything. I was just correcting the notion that this a "sh*t where you eat" scenario when in fact it's more of a take a dump in Minnesota and eventually it will make it's way down the Mississippi to Louisiana. Then of course that doesn't exactly take into account the depth of the waterway but if you can envision this without raging internally you might see my point.

Also I am certainly not condoning any of these actions and what the so called leading nations of the world do to the 3rd world as you imply, but it's the internet so lets type all angry-like so we can feel good inside.

I don't think the contaminants would be dangerous in 2000 miles.

In a river, perhaps. Not in the ocean. The difference in scale and volume is huge.

We all tend to have science-fiction movie ideas about radioactive contamination, from five decades of media-fed hogwash. The myth that nuclear radiation is all-pervasive (or unsurvivable) is part of the justification for us having no real civil defense.

Just twenty miles of ocean depths is a tremendous buffer zone. Unless the radioactivity is some sort of floating trash atop the waves, I can't see it contaminating 2000 miles of coastline.

And while you're at it, tell me something else. What scientific studys are you relying on that clearly back up your position that dumping pollutants in the ocean poses no risk to the end consumer of harvested sealife? What studys are you relying on that illustrate the potential and possible spread of various hazardous waste contaminants through the oceanic ecosystem? Cause it's not like there's countless studys out there that support the fact that pollutants concentrate the higher up the aquatic food chain you go, right? Or that schools of fish easily cover hundreds to thousands of miles in thier lifespans, right? Or could it be that you have no empirical data to reference that support your assertation? You show me yours, and I'll show you mine.

We are probably eventually affected if you want to go that route

Good point

Sounds like they are harvesting toxic fish. But the elites don't eat it anyway, they'll just feed it to the masses.

Well, it's our foreign policy

and just another reason why it stinks.

There is also an oil

There is also an oil interest in Puntland, a self proclaimed autonomous state within Somaila. Range Resources, an Austrailian company has been accused of paying the government of Puntland for oil and mineral rights. I ran across this while researching the pirate situation but haven't really figured it out yet.

The ship..

The ship they hijacked was bringing them aid from the USA. They attacked it and we did what we had to do. How is that being lied to? Common criminals are just that no matter where they are....

I understand that the ship they hijacked

was a ship of the Pentagon with a secret mission.
Reports on the being lied to about the pirates I have posted here earlier.
We need to keep one thing in mind: it is a well known fact that USA has the strongest military force on the planet, and not afraid of using it I might add.. Why would a country of a mere 9 million people take on a force as big as that? Just the whole thing as reported in mainstream needs to be read with the thought in mind: what is the spin they are using this time.

It stank when it started and it stinks even more so now other facts are coming to light.

Pirates are common criminals. However, since the USA is now considering to have permanent stay in Somalia, is that how you treat 'just common criminals"????

You have to be kidding? Did you know that under Bush we sent the MOST humanitarian aid to Africa than ever before. This was a private shipping company hired to bring food and supplies to Somalia. The pirates were not interested in the cargo, only the money from threatening their lives.

And YES, common criminals who are endangering someone's life may get blown away. That's a fact ma'am... since when do you feel the need to protect murderers? What would you do if faced with someone threatening your life?

As for the ship being "from the Pentagon with a secret mission", I think you need to adjust your tin foil hat.

ever read the books by John Perkins?

Gives a good insight as to why and when 'aid' is given by the USA.
