After Tea Parties, Create a Third Party - The Tea Party

Well, this seems like an obvious enough idea but I'll share it anyway. Over the last year and a half that I've been a member of DP, there have been a lot of calls for a third party that would represent patriots better than the Republicrats. Some suggested the Constitution or Libertarian Parties, as well as other existing parties that have never gotten much traction.

With all this energy going into organizing national Tea Parties, why not extend that effort to now create (drum roll, please) - The Tea Party? It's a simple name and everyone knows that it represents freedom from oppressive government.

There is a Tea Party, it's just not national. I do agree with Ron Paul about how it is near impossible for a third party candidate to become President (with the exception of Jesse Ventura).

you can get enough people to back it. My fear is that the liberty movement is so fractured as it is, creating another political party might just splinter it more. It would be great to find a party to call home. I left the Republican party a couple of years ago, but am not quite sure where I fit in. Am I a pro-life libertarian or a pro-gay civil union/pro legalize drugs constitution party member?

Here's an idea. What would be the platform of the "Tea Party"? That should start some debate. How inclusive would it be?
