Easiest to navigate / best site for legislation and elected officials info

Please recommend a good site to direct newbies to, where information on legislation is being voted on or has been passed. Also that gives voting records of senators and reps.

Opencongress.org opens up to a decent home page

Idownsizedc has been mentioned but I am clueless where to go for anything when that page opens up.

the map opens up nicely to breakdowns. The voting info on each elected, with the topic, is very good. thank you.
