How I Met Ron Paul, Part IISubmitted by Michael Nystrom on Sun, 01/28/2007 - 21:35
As I mentioned in Part I , I stayed up late into the night transcribing the exchange that I had heard earlier in the morning between Alan Greenspan and Ron Paul, to put up on my website. Later that day, I.M. Vronsky from Gold Eagle contacted me and asked if he could republish my transcript on the Gold Eagle web site.
Could he? Could he ever! I was ecstatic!! This meant a huge audience for people who had never heard anything of the sort - who had never dreamed that someone would dare challenge Greenspan in public. To this day, that reprint remains up on the Gold Eagle site - you can see it here: F is for Fraud (I chose that title because it was the month of F, for February)
Well the next day later I got an email from someone named Jeff in Ron Paul's camp! The email read:
"Thanks for your kind words about my boss (Ron Paul) and his exchange yesterday with Chairman Greenspan. My boss is a firm believer in hard money, having a thorough understanding of monetary policy and Fed folly. Please do not hesitate to visit our website (www.house.gov/paul) to find out more about Dr. Paul, and please feel free to call me if we can help you with any information in the future."
Wow! I couldn't believe it, really. The speed and power of not just the internet but of the average man -- you have to remember, I was just a regular Joe up in Seattle typing away on his home computer -- and the next day someone from a Congressman's staff in Texas writes to thank me. And plus it showed me that Ron Paul had class. All of this made an impression that I still haven't forgotten and I've been a fan of Ron Paul's ever since.
Don't forget people, we do have the power. The only legitimate source of our government's power is us - We the people.
Until next time! Stay tuned
