Was there a CFL presence at your tea party?

If not, why not? I get emails asking for donations. I'd like to know, particularly in the major cities, was the Campaign for Liberty at your tea party? If so, how were they spreading the message. » |

Tabling at the Tea Party
Yesterday at the downtown Santa Ana, CA Tea Party we unveiled the Campaign for Liberty Table Display. About 20 of us crashed the Tea Party armed with, signs, C4L brochures, slimjims, 1000 HR1207 flyers, pocket Constitutions, C4L stickers and bumper stickers--we where loaded with materials. And do you know what? This type of activism works!!!

The angry and dismayed crowd where grasping for whatever hope they can hang their hats to. These people-young and old flocked to our table for 2 ½ hours. We signed up 42 people who had genuine interest in our little lobby, and we also managed to get more people to sign the End the Fed petition. Now, many are hearing Dr. Paul's enlightening message, and it feels good to have made this happen.
This type of activism should not end, and we, like St. Paul (that other saint of old) MUST continue spreading the message by getting involved in these types of events. Judging from yesterday's response, the general public is ready for it or very close to ready.

who's joined the C4L and on their mailing list and/or has made donations, a member of C4L?
Aren't most of us on here C4L? Ergo, if you were at a Tea Party, then of course there was C4L presence? Weren't we/C4L spreading the message?

If people donate to the CFL, shouldn't they
hope for more than a group of people anonymously milling around at a rally? Besides, I didn't donate to John Q. Public, I donated to the CFL.
I'd like to know that the money is being well spent. One if the ways to gauge that is to see how well they market themselves.

My group was there.
Spread out amongst the crowd. We were never all together until the end. We were in Richmond Va. and there were thousands of people. The traffic was so bad in the city we were a little late and could not even get close enough to the stage to hear the speakers. Our Audit the Fed/Support HR 1207 got alot of attention,questions, and support. Very interesting to see alot of people from our very rural area there too. People we hadn't seen in years. Kinda neat it was right across the street from the federal reserve building. We schooled a few that still don't know it's a private bank or how it works.
The turnout was much more than I expected if it had been nice weather.It was raining and cold and if weather detered many people it would have been unmanageable!

We had a bunch of C4L folks at the huge Atlanta Tea Party. Many had signs, we handed out over 900 Sound Money / Economic Freedom fliers, and got dozens of DVDs out there. A good night overall.

Does the C4L send out money
Does the C4L send out money to local chapters? I know they must be collecting a lot, but from what I understand, the local chapters are on their own - everything is volunteer based.
I know that our local chapter seems to be pretty strapped for funds. It is basically a bootstrap operation.
I think relying on C4L to "get the job done" is asking too much.
We need to look at what worked in the past.
One guy in a CFL t-shirt is not enough as well-intentioned as they might be.

I am a member of the local C4L -- it's not going anywhere
I hope Dr. Paul replaces John Tate and gets someone who can actually do something besides ask for money.
I absolutely love what YAL is doing (Young Americans for Liberty). This group has it together. If YAL were to merge w/ C4L into one more cohesive group, and let Jeff Frazee run it, you would actually see some real progress being made.
I seriously hope Dr. Paul listens to some of us here and steers C4L into a better direction towards funding local C4L chapters. C4L is just a website. That's it. The root in grassroots is dying for C4L. It has almost lost all momentum.

If you have a look at the Austin Meetup group.
They are still kicking @ss. I am a member and I get emails from them daily.
Obviously these groups work to some degree -- look what the Meetup in Iowa delivered during the primary. I was a member of that group as well. They were smart and passionate.

My mom said there were several CFL reps
handing out literature and a definite Ron Paul/liberty presence at the rally she attended with 4,000 other people in the Hudson Valley. One of the speakers was a male teenager from a local Catholic high school's chapter of Students for Lberty. She reports that she felt very encouraged by the event, the turnout, and the growing awareness of the issues.

In fact, I was the ONLY Ron Paul shirt out of 1500 people.
I had my
Ron Paul for president blue polo on and was asked if there was a place to get one at the rally. Sadly I got it from the end of campaign box thing. I saw another fellow wearing a shirt that read "Don't blame me, I voted for Ron Paul" I loved it. Then I ran into the C4L guy.
He had a little 1 inch pin on his lapel that read...I can't remember it was so small. But he did have a C4L poster. Come to mention it I saw two posters for the C4L.

just to see an official from C4L. Instead I saw and heard sheeple talking about FOX news being the only accurate news, how it would have been different if McCain was elected. The "Tea Partiers" have learned nothing. They will leave the tea parties, go home and pay their taxes, watch Dill Do'Reilly on Faux News, and in the next election, vote for 'whoever' in their "party." They have learned nothing.
They are still completely clueless.

yes, they were represented in santa ana california by a nice man in a suit and several other people carrying CFL signs. they had a large table with plenty of reading material and information. very nice to see.
Bumped into one guy
With one sign. Though when I talked with him for that brief moment guys started coming up and asking where are all the Ron Paul people at? Like they were looking for their people.
Next Time I will be geared up to bring together all the paulites under my wing so we can become a cohesive force unto ourselves. Cause our presence was there just not in a coordinated capacity. The C4L was busy with another smaller protest in another county. Though I would have coordinated all the efforts on the 7k at the capitol. The C4L is getting a little to big. As in its not thinking on its feet.
I could have missed them. I arrived a little past 12 when it began.
Maybe it's time to get the Meetup groups going again.
The Ron Paul Meetups could take the "best of the best" material from all the groups and be a distribution point in their area.
Ex. -- Restore The Republic's magazines, Freedom To Fascism DVDs, Ron Paul bumper stickers, pocket Constitutions, and so on.
With all of the best gear, the Meetups just start showing up at every event in town with the best conversion tools.

As far as CFL goes, I think they are in dire need of a passionate supporter who is also a marketing expert.

The guy said all the Ron Paul meet-ups are going to be taken down and all the members will be directed to join the C4L meet-ups in their local areas.
I'm all for making a Sacramento based Ron Paul/Constitutional freedom group. But I don't want to shell out money to the meet-up thing. E-mails are so much easier. Thats how I learned of the 15th tea party. Meet-ups are IMO old technology.
