First of all...
These are Marines, not soldiers. Soldiers are in the Army, Marines are in the Marine Corp (technically the Navy).
Second, I don't find it that appalling. The stuff with the kids is bad, and I would hope their NCO would kick ass for being unprofessional, but other than that it is just blowing off steam.
You would too. They hate being there, they hate their pointless missions, and they hate being a "peace force" which means you are defensive at all times. Give them a break. YOU sent them there (And by "you" I don't mean Texas loves, I mean the citizens of the US). You accepted the false-flag terror of 9/11. No one stood up and protested. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is responsible for our imperial occupations.

I feel for them.
I recognize the symptoms all too well; they're exhibiting the worst signs of battle fatigue. They're demoralized and they just don't care anymore. We desperately need to get them back home.
I am a bit disgusted about the lack of discipline and professionalism. Were it my unit, I'd have their asses, personally. I had zero tolerance for this behavior. But between the standards being so low for recruitment now and the severe symptoms they have, I guess it's to be expected at this point.
Something has got to give soon.

I am not shocked by this at all.
The guys might be acting as A-holes, but they are being asked to fight for fake freedom on a false pretense. They realize this joke is on them.
The Iraq and Afghan wars are making our troops loose their marbles. I would definitely go off the rails in this debacle.

That's true- but at the same time you can't remove the individual soldier's responsiblity in what he does. Without them joining the military the gov't isn't able to do most of the nonsense it wants to in most foreign countries. We haven't been defending our nation truly since WW2- so people joining the military voluntarily after that usually know they're being sent overseas- whether its Afghanistan, Japan, or somewhere else its not defending this nation. Of course recruiters try to spice it up and make it sound like it's a great career decision- but in the end its always an individual's responsibility to do what's right.
