PAC for Ron Paul supporters running for Congress.
Submitted by USMC4Paul on Sat, 11/24/2007 - 20:16This topic sprung up the other day. I decided to go ahead and run with it. I have found out that a couple of others have the same idea. Mine isn't any better, and in fact my website is probably barer bones.
I have one candidate listed so far. If you know of one let me know, I will contact them and see if they want to be placed on the list of candidates on the site.

Yes it is a very bare website, I will be adding to it.
This PAC is for supporters of Dr. Paul, it is there soley to aid them in advertising or in other ways their campaign may need it. It also will serve as a list (And yes I know there are some others out there) of like minded candidates.

I'm proud to see my man Jim Guest on this list. He's a true Patriot in my great state of Missouri. We love you Jim! There needs to be more people getting involved with this. Keep up the good work guys. I would like to see the Meetups join forces in each state to come up with a list of people running for state and local office. People who will defend our state sovereignty. And protect the people's state Constitution and Rights. Awsome idea. I've been waiting for this to happen.

I've decided I'll go ahead and take the plunge. I am going to announce on Dec 29/30. I've never run for office, but I teach, served in the marines, been around the block a time or two.
I've done a lot of research and just today found some great tips for running a campaign. Email me, I'll forward about 10 websites to you.

This is the alpha test version, but it appears to be working fine although some planned features are not implemented yet.

Visit the candidates pages. They are facing a similar struggle to Dr. Paul. Maybe even harder since they don't have the national support.
If you don't feel like donating to the PAC's general fund, consider donating $5-20 to each candidate (there are 3 on my list now, plus a link to a bigger list)

I've Been Thinking of Running Too
But I don't have the faintest idea what to do. I am no politician. Just a strict Constitutionalists kind of engineer. Does anyone know where to get some info on how to start and run a campaign? I am in Ohio if that makes a difference. I did talk to the Libertarian Party a few weeks ago who suggested I try as an Independent since the Republicans will have predetermined who they will have in the general election.
I will put my name out there but I just need to know some basics on what needs to be done.

CRUCIAL - Get emails for collecting signatures
The hardest part of starting a campaign is getting the thousands of signatures that are required to get you on the ballot.
Most people pay $1.00 a signature.
We can by pass this for people who support Ron Paul SO LONG AS SOME ONE has email lists so that Ron Paul supporters can be contacted and can down load forms to fill in and mail in.
The people running will need to declare what their ideas are and / or that they support Ron Paul, before people give them a signature supporting them.

In terms of politics, this is probably the second most important thing we should be doing.
1) Elect Ron Paul
2) Elect officials with Ron Paul compatable views
3) Support Ron Paul's legislation and legislative positions
