Why won't Dr Paul...

Introduce legislation that legalizes what are now "illicit drugs"? I know he is against the drug war, so why not introduce a bill, and keep introducing them?

Daryl is right. That is
Daryl is right. That is probably the lease important issue in the face of the financial meltdown.
Let's also not confuse Dr. Paul's opposition to the federal war on drugs with supporting the legalization of "illicit drugs.."
Dr. Paul supports no such thing. He supports ending the federal war on drugs and allowing individual states to decide how best to handle the issue of illegal drugs.
Dr. Paul's position is that "drugs should not be prohibited at the federal level..." This is a far-cry from unrestricted legalization.

Not to be snarky, but
We are on the verge of economic collapse. Perhaps, he is dealing with that issue, as his current focus. The rest will implode later, as a potential government spending cut...
