Few Things I don't like about the dailypaul
I've been here for a long time now, since Feb 2008 maybe?
I mainly go to the dailypaul to catch all the "Ron Paul news" and his clips, etc. I'm all for Ron Paul, don't love everything he wants or talks about but the majority I agree with. The bumper sticker on my truck clearly states "Ron Paul for President 2008" and it is still on there, never coming off.
This site is really a great website. I truly have not been able to get away from it for long, I'd rather be on here then do my accounting or math homework for college. I like politics now more and more. I'm more interested in business and finance too. I'll tell you I never have heard of Alex Jones before coming to this site, I had no idea who he was, never heard of him. I'd also never heard of several other people who are constantly brought up on this site.
Anywase, long story short, recently, I keep seeing posts that are more anti-jewish then anything, I mean any jewish person would be offended coming to this site and seeing some of the posts. I know the holocaust occurred, I've spoken to a world war II veteran who raided one of the camps. I know my history, it might not be always totally accurate but it is to a degree. I mean I have jewish friends and I've told them about Ron Paul and their interested but if I told them to go to this site, they'd just leave soon.
Not all Jewish-Americans are rich and part of the elite of society and not all jewish people are totally into Israel or thier religion. I knew a jewish women who went bankrupt in the early 2000s before the crash! I also have a jewish uncle. I'm totally a Protestant. I mean I understand the conflict of interest and AIPAC and all that, it concerns me too but no need to be anti-jewish here. This is a site to admire and talk about Ron Paul and his ideas right? Also I do think sometimes that a lot of posters on here do belielve and follow Ron Paul on whatever he says, no need to do that, think for yourself. You've got to stand for something.
Another thing that is kind of detracting me from this site is sometimes it seems like everyone on here will agree with whatever some other leader of another country says or what a dictator says. One last thing, the whole dollar collpase and the whole negativity about the end of the world here on the dailypaul is soo depressing, I don't know how others find it to be fascinating. I get that the dollar will collapse at some point, when who knows, but tone it down a bit. Its not the end of the world, life goes on.

My biggest complaint is frequent use of the words "sheep" and "sheeple." Yes, it is very frustrating to see so many people willingly accept anything and everything that the government and mainstream media tell them. Yes, it's sad to see people so many people suckered into repeatedly for the corrupt fools in the government. It's easy to use the label when we're angry and frustrated. But calling everyone "sheeple" doesn't help our cause. It just makes us look bad. Nobody wants to listen to the guy who thinks he has all the answers and that you're just a brainwashed idiot. Scoff at me all you want, but let ask you this: Would Ron Paul ever use the term "sheeple"? No, he continues to patiently reach out to people and spread his message despite the public treating him as a laughingstock for many years. He doesn't refer to people as "sheep" because he has far more tact than that and we should follow his example.
Furthermore, most of us fit the definition of "sheeple" at some point in our lives. We should remember that when dealing with other people so that we don't come off as smug or elitist.
Everything is fine now.
The site has succumbed to the demands of "political correctness" as indicated by last night's "purge".
Now that we're part of the herd, they needn't be concerned about us waking up. Or waking anybody else up, either.
It's safe for all of you to come out in the pasture and play now.

I understand the Israelis wanted a homeland over there, and I can support that. What I cannot and will not support is the methods they used to obtain their land.
Similarly, I do despise the methods Americans used to rid themselves of the indigenous population.
We rounded them up, relocated them through forced marches, and put them in camps.
We broke the treaties we made with them-- an unconscionable act as the Constitution itself specifies in Article VI that:
We gave them disease ridden blankets in order to wipe them out-- a clumsy attempt at biological warfare if I've ever seen one.
Then, as if this weren't enough, we attempted to indoctrinate the survivors so as to destroy their culture in its entirety and facilitate their assimilation into our culture.
Really, to be quite honest I damn the American push for lebensraum and the resulting genocide more than I damn the Israelis for attempt to create a State. The methods we used were far more violent and vile than any I've seen them employ to date.
As to what should be done-- I do not believe that the sins of the father should be paid for by the son. We have ceased our policies of wholesale slaughter, indoctrination and outright theft so its done, its over. The Israelis on the other hand are still encroaching on the Palestinians land, they are still building settlements there-- that needs to stop, those people need to be put back within the internationally recognized borders of Israel, and both sides need to learn how to get along with each other.
It's not hatred, its disgust with the cruelty human beings can inflict upon one another that commands me to speak my mind. It is hardly interventionist to condemn violence and theft (both sides are to blame mind you) and demand that my elected representatives stop subsidizing the bloodshed going on in the Mideast.

When did we cease this policy? Maybe against the Native Americans, but we are doing this all over the world in the name of imperialism.
And your perspective on what's going on is interesting. The Palestinians want to annihilate the Jews. They have been going into Israel and sacrificing themselves by strapping themselves with bombs and going on city buses and blowing up innocent women and children for many years. They are considered martyrs by Islam. Now I didn't read this, I was in close contact with an Israeli friend and he would tell me every day how many people died for years, it was always civilians innocent people going to work or shop. I thought this was common knowledge, but I think it's part of the story that wasn't told. I begged my friend to come to the US where it's safe (er). Knowing this and knowing the constant attacks would warrant only one result, the Jews are going to reach their limit. Just like any people would. If we were in a similar situation with terrorist jumping on our city buses and blowing up our people, we would respond with greater force. It's the nature of war and conflict. Only you focus on the retaliation not the original act that precipitated it.

This video, notice how he unites Christians and Muslims against Jews. Remember the chart, Jews make up 1/4 of one percent of the world population, this group, 54% of the world population. Do you honestly think Jews are a threat in the whole scheme of things? How is it possible that this tiny spec of people are controlling everything? Doesn't 54% of the world population making the decisions seem more realistic? And if it were true how did one quarter of one percent of all people get control of the masses? 'Zionism' is really a poor choice of terminology for people who are opposed to Israel's military policy in Gaza, or AIPAC's influence on US foreign policy.

I don't know all the intricacies of anti-Zionist conspiracy writings--I have not read "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", but I know that to millions of Christians and Jews, the word "Zion" has essentially positive connotation, and 'Zion' specifically refers to the southwest hill of Jerusalem, the older and higher part of the city, also known as the 'City of David'.
So it's a culture war word, and spewing vitriol at 'Zionism' makes no sense to me, since the term does not have one meaning, and is sure to offend people who don't subscribe to the specific interpretation.

is a derivation of a biblical term "Shemite" or "Sons of Shem".
Shem is one of Noah's 3 sons.

Yes, there are Arab semites.

But, the worst thing about this site is actually that, while depression, futility and despondence rule the day on the DailyPaul (unlike the action-oriented Ron Paul Forums), a MAJOR C4L conference call with HUGE action items occurred tonight, and... crickets over here. Not a single mention is to be found on the Daily Paul.
So many of you would rather hate you some Jews than actually help with the mass action that will be taking place on Tuesday.
Do you even care that we may actually have an opportunity to achieve part of THE major agenda item of our entire movement? I guess not when there are stories of FEMA camps, 911-"truth", chemtrails, Obama-birth "truth", the reptilian race and the grand Jewish conspiracy to prattle on about.

A lot of days I agree with you, that DP is ruled by the pessimists and naysayers--never even mind the conspiracy theorists. But I keep coming back here, and not spending so much time on the C4L site. This place is a hell of a lot more entertaining.
I really am pretty schizophrenic on this issue. I spend a lot of time researching legislation, post something about it in the hopes of getting a response, and either watch it fall into the virtual ether or worse yet, get responses from the Eeyore types. So last weekend I changed my homepage to C4L and not this one, thinking that my mind needed some realignment. I also have been trying to keep my nose to the grindstone by getting a lot of research done for an action item I am suggesting in an upcoming C4L meeting. If only I could be so virtuous, though...what in the world am I thinking when I spend my spare moments of a weekend in a flame war with some of the usual troublemakers on an innocent-sounding thread called "Happy Birthday Mr. Jefferson?"

Absolutely right.
That doesn't necessarily mean believers in 9-11 truth, nor believers in the New World Order. (Which is not conspiracy theory, but politics---it describes a cabal that is influencing our government.)
On the other hand the "paper cutters-that-are-really-Chinese-guillotines" mentality is rampant here, and it is discordant, and it dumps irrationality and negative emotions on this Forum like acid rain.
Contrast that with the beaming grin Ron Paul had on his face the other day when Hillary Clinton was telling him about his energetic supporters. We need more of that optimistic feeling here.

I truly think those collectivist ranters do not care about freedom, or they would not intentionally undercut the educational work and outreach critical to reach people open to principles of freedom and peace. Whether they are just stupid or outright trolls matters little. They harm this site terribly.
