National recognition

You should understand that one of the reasons Ron Paul lost in 08 was his lack of national recognition...people just didn't know him.

Your 2012 candidate would ideally be somebody known by the general public, else you will be fighting the same uphill battle as in 08...Ideally this would be Ron Paul himself because of his national recognition gained in the campagin (see recent polls)

Most people saw Ron Paul nationally at the debates in May 2007...just over half a year before the first elections began.

We have 3 years to get name recognition and funding for a candidate that we can all get behind.

Or it can be Ron Paul...I believe it was said that it should be known by this summer in order to be successful.

We need to win the Iowa straw poll with our candidate in 2011...that's key and something we can work on for two years to achieve.

and you post it on the Daily Paul, but Ron Paul is not in your list of 2012 candidates?

I feel that Ron Paul is the best "Ron Paul" Republican we have. But I'm not as confident that he will run in 2012. I'd rather have an alternate candidate that we can all get behind when the time comes as opposed to what happened in 2008 where people were backing Barr, Baldwin, McCain, writing in Ron Paul (which was my choice).

I have two seperate polls on the site. One poll asking if Ron Paul would be your first choice. And another poll with the other liberty candidates. If Ron Paul was on the list with all of the other candidates it would always end up with Ron Paul as the winner (I am targetting all Ron Paul sites because I want Ron Paul people to be the influence, not "Tea Party" Republicans).

At the end of each month I will post the winner of the poll along with the percentage of people who feel that Ron Paul is still the best choice on the top of the site for that month. That way we can gauge the overall feel of Ron Paul's grassroots so that we have a path forward for 2012.
