Homeland Sec. Says She's Working to Repeal Real ID Law
WASHINGTON (CNN) — A post-9/11 law that sets federal standards for state drivers licenses and identification cards is under fire from the head of the agency enforcing that law — the Department of Homeland Security.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said this week she is working with governors to repeal the Real ID Act, which was passed in 2005 and went into effect last year.
The bill is popular in Washington, but is scorned by many governors who bear the responsibility and cost of validating that holders of drivers’ licenses are citizens or legal residents of the United States.
Napolitano, former governor of Arizona, said she has been meeting with governors of both parties recently “to look at a way to repeal Real ID.” She said she wants to substitute the federal law with “something else that pivots off of the driver’s license but accomplishes some of the same goals. And we hope to be able to announce something on that fairly soon.”
On Wednesday, Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wisconsin, a sponsor of the law, said he was “angered” by Napolitano’s comments. “Real ID is a necessary program for keeping America safe, it is the will of Congress and also a recommendation of the 9/11 Commission,” Sensenbrenner said.

Department of Homeland Terrorism
Correction, it's the Department of Homeland Terrorism. These are the real terrorists.
Anyone who calls returning Iraqi veterans terrorists is a terrorist. Anyone who calls people who support the Second Amendment a terrorist is a terrorist. Anyone who calls patriotic Americans who support Ron Paul, or want to abolish the Federal Reserve a terrorist is a terrorist.
We need to expose the nest of vipers. They are a threat to Constitutional government.
Homeland Security begins and ends with the Second Amendment.
She comes from AZ. I live in
She comes from AZ. I live in AZ. I'm sure that she feels that there will be enough checkpoints in the US to insure that we are watched closely. The AZ borders all have checkpoints as do areas within the state. You are stopped and asked if you are a citizen. Then they want to run your info. You can't leave the state, or enter it for that matter, through any of the main roads without having to stop at a checkpoint.
The metropolitan areas have become like Nazi Germany. At night, i can sit in my backyard and count four or five helicopters patrolling the skies just in my area of town, and its one of the safer areas of Tucson. There is constant whirring in the sky all night long.
Today, we had artificial cloud cover all day long. They were spraying us heavily here.
I would take anything that Janet Napolitano says with a grain of salt. Whatever advances for us you may see, you can be sure that there is worse yet to come.
Blessings )o(
I don't see how anything
I don't see how anything Napolitano comes up with could be any more insidious that the Real ID. Hopefully the American sheeple dont take it too hard when this all works out.

1. How the hell is Sensenbrenner still in office? He sponsored that traitorous garbage piece of legislation.
2. It seems that a favored tactic of Congress is to pass something horribly unconstitutional and draconian, only to then tone it down later. Get us used to the more egregious form and then soften it, so then it looks like they are mindful to the will of the people. The end result is there is still another bad law on the books, and we are still less free than before.
why is she working with Governors?
Isn't the real ID a federal law. Shouldn't she be working with congress? Is there still going to be a real ID just under another name?
I think it's more a matter of listening to the governors.
After all, they are the officials who are steamed about it.
New Hampshire and Ecuador
The good news is......
the fact that they had to BACKOFF shows that there has been an effective awakening of the people, and the evil ones are scared. We must continue to educate, educate, educate the recently awakened and fearful sheep.
The bad news is that " The Devil Never Sleeps"... so we will watch for the "something else" that they come up with to fool the populace.
BUT AT LEAST THEY ARE FEELING HEAT!!!! I think this signifies progress.

I think it more likely comes
I think it more likely comes down to money. Most of the states that are against it don't like it because it is federally mandated but not federally funded and the states do not have the funds to implement it. So the new program likely will be the same old program except with the funds to make it happen.
I agree with you -
agreed.

Pure evil does not know it is evil and neither does good. And neither have ever even heard of the concept of sleep. The oscillation between them continues infinitely.
If we start educating more people to this true and accurate nature of things then maybe we can make these peaks and troughs not so dramatic. It involves a bit of thinking...
Alot of Truck Drivers
Alot of Truck Drivers already have a National ID card, it is called a TWIC card which translates to- Transportation Worker Identification Credential. It has a micro chip in it. Also truckers who don't have this card yet are in a national data base, and have been for a few years now. I was told a couple of years ago that my CDL ( commercial drivers license ) was a federal license.
Here is the link to the tsa site and info about the TWIC card
http://www.tsa.gov/what_we_do/layers/twic/index.shtm
What is TWIC?
TWIC is a common identification credential for all personnel requiring unescorted access to secure areas of MTSA-regulated facilities and vessels, and all mariners holding Coast Guard-issued credentials. Individuals who meet TWIC eligibility requirements will be issued a tamper-resistant credential containing the worker's biometric (fingerprint template) to allow for a positive link between the card and the individual.

Ahhh Herr Napolitano.....
Really now - What did we order and demand, but a total END TO THE ID ACT: AND WE WILL HAVE IT!
You seem to assume in your arrogant neocon Zionist enforced castles that we are actually afraid of your insufferable little army....

However I don't think you realize we are NOT, and most Americans are now becoming wide awake to Ron Paul's message....and no matter how you try to pilfer and hijack the message of freedom.
We will win & wipe your forces out. There will be no Federal Reserve, that is the last thing America has ever wanted!

If we can get active in the States,
the plan will not fly.
These "driver's licenses" are state-issued.
50 Oath-Breakers/TRAITORS
My State of Montana rejected Real ID, yet many of those same Representatives did not affirm their Oath of Office today. IMO, this shouldn't have been a Partisan consideration/affirmation; however, the vote today revealed their True Colors. It is a pathetic, pitiful day in Montana...

1 word microwave
If you feel the need to carry your drivers license after they alter it. Stick it in the microwave for a few seconds and bye bye chip.
I submit that an individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for
Enhanced Drivers' Licenses
Meanwhile DHS is working on implementing something exponentially worse than REAL ID: enhanced drivers' licenses with RFID chips in them. It's right on their website: http://www.dhs.gov/xtrvlsec/crossingborders/gc_1197575704846...
Why wouldn't they just use SSN?
I requested no Social Security number on my NH driver's license (you can do that) but it sounds like they might be creating a second, non-SS number for this purpose.
New Hampshire and Ecuador
what good does repealing it do
when she is talking about replacing it with something else. replace it with nothing. and while she's at it, get rid of driver's licenses all together.
Rep. James Sensenbrenner can go to hell.
And this is why the Republicans are so far off the mark too.
IS THERE ANY PARTY LEFT FOR LIBERTY???
I know the Constitution and Libertarians would be against this but both other corrupt parties won't let them anywhere near the debates so the sheeples never even know they exist.
Without the sheeples, no other party can get near the presidency.

One thing about the Democrats: They do seem to have more capability than the GOP neocons to know which direction the wind is blowing.
