Family night out for pizza in small town USA . WRONG !

0 votes

It was Friday April 24th roughly 8pm when a very pleasant and innocent evening took a turn for the worse.
Earlier in the day I had picked up my daughter who is a senior at a division one college. Graduation is only a couple weeks away. We were on our way home for the weekend when she thought of a pleasant idea. We ought to have pizza this evening dad, she said. My second son , daughter in law and first daughter were all going to be home with myself and my daughter.
When we arrived home I wrote a note and stuck it in the kitchen to let all who were returning home that we were going to go out for pizza.
This decision brought smiles and anticipation to all that read it. For we haven't been out together on the town for some time due to the different directions each one of us took on a daily bases due to work, college, visits, chores etc..
My son was the last to arrive home and find out the news that we were going out to eat for a family event. Little did we know at the time that the excitement and anticipation of a pleasant evening out was about to take a turn.
The five of us refreshed ourselves up from the days activities and prepared to leave for a nice evening out. I am a father/grandfather, military veteran, my son who was sitting in the front passenger side of the vehicle is a computer tech specialist, son, brother and pastor. I was the designated operator of the vehicle we were taking. My youngest daughter sat directly behind me. As I already have mentioned, she is a senior at a college university due to graduate the beginning of May. Next to my youngest daughter was my oldest daughter who also is in college taking classes towards the development of a masters, and my daughter in law who was setting next to the door in the back passenger side of the vehicle is on staff at a college university and pursuing her masters as well.
Now that I have set up the setting for the evening we were about to embark on the story starts to get very interesting.
We live in the country just outside a small town. This town might have two thousand people if that many. A state high way is only a minute or two away from our home which is outside of the small town.
We proceeded to get on the highway which would lead us to a city approximately fifteen minutes away that has been hit hard by our current monetary and economic crisis.
We had just stopped and gone through a a four way blinking light intersection. After proceeding through the intersection I and a couple others noticed a county law enforcement vehicle in the opposite lane approaching the intersection that we had just gone through. One of my daughters mentioned that she thought the individual driving the law enforcement vehicle had looked at our vehicle with much interest. Not long after she said that statement I looked in my rear view mirror and sure enough the two deputies in the vehicle who had just passed had turned around with their lights blinking and were directly behind our vehicle. So I, being a abiding citizen pulled over to stop while at the same time wondering what it was I had done to provoke this upcoming event.
After rolling my window most of the way down a female deputy walked up with that ever pleasing tyrannical personality that most of our law enforcement are blessed with nowadays. I said hello and she said I pulled you over because the passenger in the front did not have a seat belt on. And then leaned over to direct a question to my son sitting in the passenger seat when she said to me, "you have done nothing wrong". I repeated her comment and she responded in the same pleasant tyrannical sound, "that's right you have done nothing wrong."She then asked my son if there was a reason that he wasn't wearing a seat belt. Before I could tell him he didn't have to respond to that question he said," I just haven't thought to put it on mam.
She then asked for my drivers license, and the registration to the car.
Because I believe we have to pick and choose our battles I decided to go along with the deputy and give her my license and registration. This is where the evening takes a definite turn. She then asked my son for his license I.D. He responded that he didn't have his I.D. with him. She then asked for his name and social security number. He gave the information her realizing that her countenance had risen another level towards the police state that we all have seen and watched but not experienced so much.
By this time one of the small town officers had showed up with his nsa looking uniform and attitude. The deputy then went into another mode. She asked if there were any weapons in the car. I responded that I wasn't aware of any weapons in the vehicle. Thinking that I might not know what she means by weapons. She then said, "you don't know if there are any weapons in the car?" I responded that it was my sons car and I was the operator only. At that time all of the back seat responded one after the other, "I do not have a weapon". My son said he didn't have a weapon. The deputy rattled a few other insignificant questions of where we were heading and where we were coming from, etc.. she then said wait here and I will be right back.
Long story short the second deputy riding with the deputy that approached us as well as the nsa looking officer came up to the vehicle. They proceeded to try and talk my son out of the car making statements like you need to get out of the car because you can not identify yourself. Which was false. He had just given his I.D, information to the first deputy. Another comment was made that it was the law that everyone in a vehicle has to carry a I.D..
Things were starting to heat up when the small town officer told my son that he wanted him out of the car because he (my son) was a threat to his (the officer) safety because he didn't have an I.D. and couldn't identify himself. I quickly stepped in to inform the officer that he had already given that information and what law was there that required my son to step out of our private vehicle when we have committed no offense. My son then repeated his name and social security number. I had locked the doors before this event had started.
The officer was pulling on the handle demanding that my son get out of the car so he could pat him down to find out if he had any I.D, on him. I again repeated what have we done to provoke this illegal tactic. The officer proceeded to threaten my son. I told my son not to roll his window down and not to get out of the car.
I knew what might happen if he did. At this time both the second deputy and the officer were both yelling that my son was not complying and that if he didn't get out of the car he would be arrested and or thrown in jail.
I then raised my voice close to the same level as the deputy next to me. During this time the deputy next to me had went to grab my shoulder and appeared to reach in to grab the keys out of the ignition when I pulled my shoulder back and put both of my hands on top of my steering wheel, I quoted the fourth amendment and that we have not done anything to warrant the actions being taken. After I quoted the fourth amendment and asked what law have we broken and what law says that my son has to get out of the car because he doesn't have a I.D..
As you can tell the situation was starting to get serious and out of hand. All I could see was what was developing and that the safety of my children was being jeopardized. The officer then reached down for his side arm as to withdrawal it from his belt. I leaned over across my son and raised my voice at the officer to distract him repeating the question over, what law has he broken warranting his removal and threat for arrest.
Strangely enough, at that immediate moment the first deputy returned on the passenger side of the vehicle stepping between the passenger door and the small town officer. She paused and looked at the officer and then looked at my son. She then handed my son the car registration, my license and a printout for a ticket for not wearing a seat belt.
By the way the computer print out had all the information printed on my sons license on it. That's right, the print out had all information identifying my son from what he had told them. All the information was correct as we had said.
The female deputy then said we were free to go. I calmly pulled away for our pleasant family night out on the town.
This situation was about five seconds from being a possible terminal event. I already knew how I was going to respond if the officer pulled out his weapon. I have had special training and have been debating rather to take all of my adult children to a legitimate weapons training weekend and self defense classes.
I have been following many grassroots building organizations for freedom the past few years. I've tried to stay updated and in condition for any emergency. I also kept trying to convince myself that there still is good people in America and we should be safe here in the Midwest. After this event I have been persuaded to upgrade my family protection to def con two.
This event was a eye opener for my children who always thought I was to serious about the police state, chem trails, over powering and over sized government and over all tyrannical state that this country is becoming .
We, including myself a veteran once again are all training for self defense both physically and mentally as well as weapons training. I am looking to purchase weapons for my children for self defense.
Oh, and by the way my son was a delegate last year during Congressman Paul's run for the presidency. We were active in the grassroots movement. We attended Ron Paul rally's. Educated ourselves on laws, the constitution, declaration of independents, and discussed many more topics and attended many more conferences. I and my children have personally met Ron Paul at a Rally. We have not done these things only because of Ron Paul or a party. We have and are continuing to get involved because we do not want to have to put up with what we did this past Friday for the rest of our lives. This is the United State of America. A republic of and for the people.
I know this story was long. I gave you the short version. My family and I do not fear corruption more. We are now more determined to fight for our freedoms and liberties.
I lost my six month old granddaughter a little over a year ago to a heart disease. I won't get into why I believe she was born with it. But I do know this. Our government is out of control and we cannot set by and let this country be over ran by a small group of bankers and corrupt thinking politicians only there to pad their own pockets.
Get involved.

March on contain. There are many battles to be won.

I have contacted those that I can to cast a "NO" vote on HR-1913. I to support the HR-450 and HR-1207. You listed three important bills. There are many more to follow up.
I am new to the DailyPaul. I must admit I have taken some time to research Congressman Paul and his background. I am impressed with this man. Not because of his party affiliation but his stance on the issues facing America.
I appreciate your story and have read a few of the replies given. I am glad to see that you are not easily distracted. Stay the course.
I am only one but there are many of "ones" battling.
When the evil of corruption erupts true becomes false, good becomes bad, right is wrong. I believe you get the point.

We can continue educateing all levels of government by...

supporting HR-1207 and HR-450.
Also call your reps about not passing bill HR-1913, this bill is not constitutional. HR-1913 punishes anyone who thinks. That's right our government now thinks they are able to read all of our thoughts. The crime is the offense not the thought.
Try to keep informed and let's move on these important bills. Call your reps. today. A phone call or an email is only a small piece of what can be done per individual for the cause of freedom.
Stay focused. Do not get distracted by the old media tactics.

Beware of msm tactics by online users. It seems user Richard...

much like the msm dosn't like to give you all the facts as it was said or written. I am only writing this entry for those who know that there could be some user's within the dailypaul who's objective is to discredit those trying to help the freedom cause.
Please understand as much as I would like to get in a battle of verbology with B.Richard, it would be a complete waste of time. We have bigger fish to fry. HR 1207 for example or the upcoming local elections.
I would like to support the title of this response by saying Richards facts in his reply are not quite accurate. For example: In the story with my sons car being struck. I never said that the passenger car door was "violently pushed past the middle of the front seat."
And being t-boned as Richard says dosn't mean that the car that struck my sons car was going at a rate of speed as to be suggested "violent".
And as far as the physics. If the force of the impact is less then the force of the individual not strapped in pushing himself away from the impact before impact then the theory Richard suggest is wrong.
Not all the details were given. Richards conclusion was based off of a picture he had created in his own mind. And for not being at the place of the accident he has no way of knowing what happened.
All of his tactics are used on the old stream media tv only to discredit freedom minded thinking individuals.
I appreciate Richards reply though. Because it helps those of us "Paulites" that have some intelligence to detect those that are caught up in the web of corrupt thinking.
Fools will be destroyed within their own follies.

I'm surprised

You are still here, albeit sour grapes.

I do see you have a following, mental dwarfs.

Douch'e

Guilty (smile)

Are you following me ?

I would be worried if you didn't (smile)

Paulites this is a good example of what you want to believe

On April 27th, 2009 Bonhomme Richard says:
I was skeptical of this pizza story from the beginning. What struck me as odd, as a parent who allegedly had everybody else buckled up in a car, let one son go unbuckled. Giving "contain1359" the benefit of the doubt a seatbelt unbuckled warning was not working and/or not paying attention would be the only excuse.

*Below in a post (reply to me) where "contain1359" describes an incident in opposition to wearing seat-belts.

"contain1359" allegedly describes an accident where "contain1359" states a son who was not wearing a seatbelt in the front seat during a violent passenger-side impact accident as a passenger who was safely pushed into his brothers lap who was driving, implying not wearing the seat belt saved him from death, resulting only in a bruise to his right arm.

Any High School student of physical law knows that for every action there is an equal but opposite action. Unless, Issac Newton is mistaken about his, "Third Law of Motion", our good friend "contain 1359" needs attention.

An impact so violent as "contain1359" describes as a passenger door being violently pushed past the middle of the front seat in a "T-bone" impact is death for anyone sitting there, seatbelt or no seatbelt.

( --->I<---- ), not ( <---I<---- ). Need I say anymore ?

* Perspective ? I to have a seat belt story from a different ...
On April 27th, 2009 contain1359 says:
perspective. While my oldest son was in college my family went to visit him on a weekend. Due to the size of our family we took two vehicles. After a concert that my son was involved we decided to go get a sandwich at a near by campus sandwich shop. The sun had already gone down and it was now evening.
When we had finished I drove one vehicle and my oldest son drove another vehicle. His passengers were my second son, daughter and a friend. My second son was in the passenger seat in the front.
We came to a busy 4 way intersection with stop lights. He was two vehicles behind me. We had to make a left turn on to a main road back to his apartment. I was the last to make it through the intersection when the light turned yellow. The vehicle behind me decided to stop.
I had every reason to believe that my son would make it through the next green turn light. So I proceeded on to the next light.
When I approached the next traffic light approximately one half mile away we had to stop at the light. The line of cars was long in front of us so we had to sit through the light change three different times. I realized that my son had not caught up with us. I developed a strange feeling, especially when I saw red lights flashing in the opposite lane approaching us going the opposite direction.
I decided to get in the turn lane to turn back. I arrived at the scene and sure enough my son was involved in a two car accident. There was already city law enforcement at the scene along with the second law enforcement vehicle arriving.
Long story short. My son was turning left when the green arrow turned for his turning lane not realizing that a young man who had his fathers brand new sports car was messing with the sound system in his car and forgot to watch the road and stop light. He proceeded through the intersection striking the 89 Chevy Cavalier that my son was driving directly hitting the passenger side of the vehicle.
My oldest son had his seat belt on. My second son sitting in the passenger side did not. When the cavalier was struck my son sitting in the passenger seat was thrown onto the lap of my oldest son in the operators seat. The passenger door was forced passed the middle of the passenger seat from the impact.
I was told that if it had not been for my son not having his seat belt on this accident could have been fatal. Since he wasn't wearing his seat belt he only had a bruise on his right arm. No one else was badly hurt. A few bruises and that was it.
Citizens of a free republic should have the right to protect themselves in their own vehicle as they choose as long as they are not harming or forcing their way of protection on anyone else. Our government forcing us to protect ourselves with a seat belt statute is not right.
We might want to attach a seat belt statute on our toilets as well. We could wake up in the middle of the night to use the toilet and accidentally slide off and hurt ourselves because we fell asleep while using the toilet.
If someone chooses to use a seat belt or not is for the citizen to decide. The seat belt or vehicle is not the enemy which the government is to protect us from. Accidents happen and will continue to happen with or without the governments intervention. The larger the government and its power the larger the problems that will come as a result of its abuse.

Just Another...

of your usual F-wad posts.

My mother would be dead if she wore seatbelts...which she won't right up to today. Thank God there wasn't a law in place when the truck lost it's brakes coming down the steep hill and obliterated her Carmen Ghia in 1968. It drove right over top of her, throwing the door open and ejecting her from what ended up as a steel pancake.

That's it, Issac Newtons Laws of Motion must be wrong !

I could believe she flew over the truck upon impact, but you said she was ejected out the door (sideways) ?

Care to explain how she did that ?

Simple possiblity (wasn't there)

the truck hit at an angle

Bingo

She stayed in one place while the truck (dump truck) rode up onto the car, grabbed it presumably with it's back axle, and took backwards whereby the car and truck came to rest 30' from the point of impact and left my mother lying in the road with a few bruises.

Wow, a run-a-way dump truck down hill !

A car at 30 mph "not going downhill out of control with brakes" takes 30 feet braking distance.

In any case I'm glad your mother is okay, and I'm sorry about your accident, and I hope you get better.

No help from the peanut gallery...

Let Issac Newton's nemesis explain, "Run over the car, metal-pancake, thrown to safety theory."

You may want to believe in fairy tales, but I know better.

You really are a dick.

Why

would he lie?

I'm not a psychiatrist

I don't know, maybe attention ?

Sounds familiar

Is that the same reason you spend all that time debunking someone without any more plausible reason to doubt him than a poor reading of his story? Sheesh. What a contribution you've made.

My mistake

here I thought truth could withstand the light of day.

Any more detributions for truth that you would care to make ?

Nice try. As a citizen of America you are entitled to your...

opinion. By playing the devils advocate you have shown your true color as a know it all and having a arrogant personality.
After reading some of your previous writings on the daily paul at which you have been a member of for only twenty some weeks. Your response does not surprise me. I will not counter or engage in conversation with you other then this reply because you have made it clear in most of your other entry's that you pretty much know everything there is to know.
I taught my children not to engage in conversation with those that are not willing to discuss but only one side. Their side.
"Paulites" in your response said it all. I needed not go any further.
By the way my son is a adult along with the other three young adults that were in the back seat of the vehicle. They were in a privately owned vehicle enjoying the freedoms that we are to have as citizens of a free republic. We did not debate the seat belt infraction. I only fyi shared my story to prepare other citizens of the possibility of what is going on in our country.
The negative of this is responses such as yours who obviously are out to contribute towards the confusion that our government continues to push for their own cause and agenda not for the people of a republic . People are free to choose. I don't need the government to hand feed me as many obviously think they need.
I respect your concern. The God of this universe knows exactly what went on in my circumstances as well as the law enforcement and family involved.
By the way, your physics theory is all screwed up, and thanks for re posting my stories. Saves me the time.
Nice Try !

I know you are not a Paulite !

Because you voted for a RINO President twice, George W. Bush, a neo-conservative, like you !

Is sticking up for prevaricators some kind of sick joke with you ?

Bonhomme Richard is a Liar.

I'm not a Neo Conservative.

I never told him I voted for Bush at all, let alone twice.

I am a Ron Paul supporter.

Once again, I recommend everyone not waste their time with Bonhomme Richard. Not only does he lie, but if one thing is for sure, he does not act like a Ron Paul supporter at all when he defends using inflation to solve economic problems, and defends the policies of FDR and his New Deal.

Bonhomme Richard is here to distort things and waste your time. He's a noise maker.

Ron Paul's Convention Speech

sempi, you and your ilk here -

give Ron Paul and his movement a bad name by association. Are you a neocon plant ?

Do you really expect any of us to really believe you voted for John Kerry and Al Gore instead of GW Bush twice ? Don't answer that (smile)

I voted for Nader and Gore and not ashamed of it, why are you ashamed of who you voted for ?

I would of voted for Obama (almost did) but a black former Marine Sergeant told me not to trust him about withdrawing troops and to vote for Ron Paul, who wasn't on the Illinois ballot, so I voted for Chuck Baldwin (Ron Paul's Candidate).

Too late

Truth is generally the best vindication against slander.

That wasn't so hard, Richard...

"Accidents happen and will continue to happen with or without the governments intervention. The larger the government and its power the larger the problems that will come as a result of its abuse."
Now, that is where I'm coming from.

I got busted up pretty bad in '71 not even in a car

I started wearing seat-belts ever since. Nobody rides in my car w/o seat-belts. Seat belts since have saved me and the wife in a head on collision. The government gave us the tools, god the intelligence to use them. The car makers would of never done it voluntarily.
