Military Hummers with cages on the back...any one know what they are for?

Hey everyone,

Well, I work for a major "brown" delivery company, and I was delivering the other day. Something odd caught my eye as I was on the freeway. I saw Hummers on the backs of semi trucks. Now these were not regular Hummers I have seen many times before, they had cages on their backs. These cages looked ideal for putting people in. What I mean by this is they were about 6 foot in height (approx), and if they were simply for K-9 purposes, then why would they need to be so tall? They looked like they could cram 10 or more people (give or take) in them if the people were standing. What they looked like to me was a military style paddy wagon.

You know, this wouldn't be so odd if I saw this in a war torn country, or if we had no police force.....but why would they have these in the US?

It had also crossed my mind that maybe they were going overseas....but then again, these had traditional camouflage (green and black tones) and not the desert camouflage we see in the Middle East. Also, I live on the West coast, so you would think that would be a longer voyage to the so called "war on terror" in the Middle East.

I am not trying to scare anyone, or claim any wild claims....I just want to know what these are used for? I am not in the military, so I do not know. It just seemed odd to me, and I figured some of you might know what they are for? I wish I could send you a link with similar pictures of these Hummers, but I looked, and could not find a similar Hummer.

So, I will leave it at that. I just find it odd that these are here on American soil. I mean we have lots of local police, so why would we need these military paddy wagons? What are they for? Besides the fact that our military is not supposed to police us anyhow.

Just a heads up, and letting you all know what I saw. If you have any info on these Hummers, please let me know because I am curious to their purpose...

Hard to say...

I'd need to see a photo of the cage. Could be double stacked k9 unit being hauled in the back for convenience (shipping along with the vehicles- needs to be tied down) to another site, could be S-4 caging for a supply house, could be anything- dunno without a photo to see.

Prisoners are not typically transported in such a manner because it's not a secure method. Usually vans are used, like paddy wagons. Transport of a prisoner in an open cage like that is against regulations.

Very interesting

I googled for "Hummer cages," but what I came up with was an unfortunate hummingbird. Hummer-cage.jpg

You should have followed them and got

a picture with your cell phone! Im sure they are going along with the fema coffins, camps, vaults and everything else that is popping up lately.

We must quit

assuming things that may or may not happen. If we live in fear every day, THEY WIN! I refuse to live that way.

Be prepared, but- live your best life every day! Being in the know and prepared is our WIN!

They win

If we don't pay attention. That's what they're hoping for.
