Actually, they already know the answer. Taxes. Red tape. Regulatory agencies. The weather can only make up for so much.

Something called The Small Business Survival Index ranks California 49th in business friendliness. But Nevada, which has no state income tax, ranks 2nd..."

It's sad but true

I live in Northern CA - Chico.

Us Californians are property taxed to death, sales taxed to death, and businesses are taxed even further. Plus, it's about impossible any more to do land development here because the damned enviornmental health divisions question every septic system, every thing is permitted to death too. I'm looking at paying more in permits than I am for my manufactured home.

Keep it up CA. You are squeezing the last lifeblood out of the state.

I am part of the State of Jefferson movement. It's a long shot but it's what needs to really happen. Us Northern California's are completely screwed over by what happens south of us. We are not represented and we are burdened with the political decisions made over 400 miles away from us.

My friend came down from Chico last week and said he was trying to educate people up there about the left/right paradigm. To be quite honest California should probably split into two states.

California really is two seperate states.
