I'm thinking of volunteering at my local government Disaster Response Team to get insider information for the upcoming pandemic

I'm thinking of volunteering at my local Disaster Response Team to become an insider with the preparations and steps that will be taken if a true pandemic develops. I think it would be smart to be in there so I can get insider news before it hits the mainstream.
Does anybody see any drawbacks to this?

I'm pretty sure that every state has these.

Scanner
I bought a good scanner and am monitoring the local CDC and other public airwaves. You'd be surprised what you can hear going on in your area.

i think you should definately do it
i think you should definately do it until they pull out the needle. maybe try to find a way to get on the list of people who have already taken their shots without actually haven taken one.
It's likely you'll be forced
It's likely you'll be forced to take the vaccine as a first responder.
Agreed
They're just going to tell the first-time volunteers the same BS and lies that they feed to the media. You'd have to be pretty high up to get the juicy, vital information. It's really not worth being forced to take the dubious vaccinations and medicine and putting your health in even more danger.
