Don't be a wimp!
My sister went to do her dishes on Saturday and when she looked out the window above the sink she saw her neighbor hanging from a rope in his backyard.
Obviously, she is quite distraught.
I have several problems with this man's suicide.
ONE
there are kids around. if you do plan to take yourself out then do it without causing other people grief. KIDS DO NOT NEED TO SEE THAT SHiiTE!
TWO
killing yourself is COWARDLY! You are nothing but a COWARD who can't deal with life. No matter how bad YOU THINK you have it there is ALWAYS someone else out there that has it WORSE and still manages to keep on fighting.... and living.
I remember watching a documentary when i was young about a bunch of kids that were missing limbs. One kid had NO legs. Another had only ONE arm. YET! They weren't thinking about killing themselves because of it. They just lived their lives and became STRONG SOULS for it.
And when I see people killing themselves and others because they lost their job or their girlfriend left them it makes me wanna puke! That's what my cousin did last year. 86ed himself because of some dame while leaving his 11 year old boy with no EARTHLY father.
DO NOT BE A WIMP! NEVER GIVE UP NO MATTER HOW BAD YOU THINK THINGS ARE! YOUR REWARDS MAY NOT COME IN THIS LIFETIME BUT IF YOU PERSEVERE NO MATTER WHAT... IT WILL NOT BE IN VANE!
DON'T BE A WIMP!

get use to it. This generation will see alot of death
there is going to be a war
"Stop paying lip service to the Constitution, and OBEY IT!"-Ron Paul
I'm really sorry your sister witnessed that
I'm really sorry that your sister and kids saw a suicide. It's time to count blessings and possibly, go on a vacation.
I met a guy once who put a rifle in his mouth and blew off the back of the left side of his head. It took him years, but he rehabilitated and went home, put the same rifle in his mouth and blew off the right side... he rehabilitated from that too, of course, he has allof of damage, but last I saw he was throwing cans as he walked down the street.
I believe when it's your time to go, it's your time to go.
I hope your sister and the relatives of the distrrought man, friends may find peace somewhere from this mess.. perhaps everyone is better off.. my what a terrible thing to witness. I'm sorry

Sadly...
... we're going to see more of this, the further we go into this economic depression. We, as members of this "Remnant" that Ron Paul sometimes talks about, need to stay strong and look out for those around us, lest we end up living in destroyed communities. I will not let the government destroy my community.
Thanks for sharing your story Galactic.
Not sure where your anger stems from Galactic
but I don't think the deceased deserves this harsh a judgment.
I agree, children don't need to see this sort of stuff, neither does anyone else. It's totally distressing and leaves an imprint hard to erase from one's memory.
Whatever his reasons were, nobody has walked in his shoes.
Send a prayer for his soul, and whilst you are at it, send a few towards those who are having the hardest time seeing even the slightest of bright light.
Too little is known what this person moved to do what he did. Might he be one of the many on prescription drugs known for instigating this?
I appreciate the sentiment...but
its like telling kids " Just Say No" when you tell a suicidal person to " Just Cheer Up". My heart goes out to your sister- and yes- doing that sort of thing where kids may see is pretty bad- but if someone is to the point where they are putting a noose around their neck- it should be a forgone conclusion that they are not thinking clearly. If they could discern better choices at that moment- theyd live to fight another day. People who have never been depressed- SERIOUSLY depressed have no clue what they go through. I have a member of my extended family that suffers with deep bouts and is on medication for it. Your words apply to the rest of us who have really bad days and cant see the light at the end of the tunnel- but people AT the point of suicide dont understand logic. They just want the pain to stop.
some are depressed
and some are just full of SELF PITY and are WIMPS.
I dealt with severe depression at one point in my life. I had my kids taken away from me and was an active drug addict moving from place to place as I got kicked out.
I took no medications.
I took responsibility for my actions.
Accepted the punishment (because I DESERVED IT)
Prayed to God for help.
And lived through it all.
I can see if someone is gravely ill and in tremendous pain as more of a reason than someone filled with self pity and a bad case of the WHY MEs.
Everyone has free will to do what they want though. Those are just my feeling about the subject and lil story about how I got through it.

Personally, I love life far too much to ever give up any of it, but I believe there can be circumstances in which suicide is rational and advantageous. Clearly peace is preferable to unrelenting pain, so captured spies and Ernest Hemingway and Brian Keith may all have done right by their own lights.
Of course I agree that it is bad manners to leave a mess, particularly as regards the innocent. I guess, to cover all of my bases if I ever did contract some form of terminal excruciation, I'd probably want to paddle my way out to sea in a ring of C4, touch it off, and let the ocean clean up.
