It felt so good....

I just received a call from the RNC asking me to renew my membership to the tune of $150 or $100 so that we could defeat the evil Democrats and Hillary Clinton. It felt so GOOD to respectively tell them that I wasn't renewing my membership with the RNC and that I had been and would be using my membership money to support the Ron Paul campaign. I also noted that if he was not the Republican nominee, I would not financially be supporting whoever was running.

The poor guy tried to tell me that they were the "official" party representation and I told him I was tired of "official" and that's why I support Ron Paul. End of conversation!! I would encourage all of us to do the same thing if they are contacted by the "official" RNC or DNC. If they hear from enough of us, they will find out exactly what they are up against!! Go Ron Paul!!

Too good!

ROTFLMAO.

Indulge me while I repeat my previous statement, that if the politicians were subject to their own laws, the RNC and DNC would be shut down under anti-trust and RICO statutes, with all their assets confiscated and their principals headed off to lengthy prison terms.

new party ?

what we need is a new party that combines Drop out Republicans and Democrats, Libertarian, Constitution, Natural Law, Reform, and Greens who understand that government does not work.
This would be the united people's party.
It would get my support.
I have always been drawn between The Constitution Party and the Libertarian Party leaning more toward the LP because they do not push religion down anyone's throat but usually field honest and moral candidates.
Unless Ron Paul can win and reinvent the Republican Party it is doomed anyway.
I fear for our country and its freedom if Ron is not elected.

Ditto my wife

LOL! They called my wife last week. She told them the exact same thing: Ron Paul or forget about it. I wonder if the RNC is beginning to "get it"?

My favorite part...<grin>

"This Republican and others argued that ready access to large sums of money was no substitute for a candidate with the personal qualities and political assets needed to meet the demands of a modern campaign, from an unflappable manner on the trail to an established network of allies and supporters."

Ummmmmmmmmmmm, know any candidates like this...lol/???

when the NRC called me to

when the NRC called me to send a donation I gave the man an earfull! I told him every dollar i had to donate was going to Ron Paul.. the more I thought about it, I became Irate and probably gave the guy a piece of my mind he didn't want! I have since told the NRA I would not renew my membership unless they endorsed Ron Paul immedietly, at which time I would buy the lifetime membership, since he is the only presidential candidate giving the 2nd ammendement his full endorsement!.. also Beverly Lahays organization called wanting money for them to fight an abortion bill. I told them that when Her organization fully Endorsed Ron Paul the only anti abortion candidate running for President I would send them 500.00! the guy on the phone said well i've never heard that before and he would pass it along!

Never joined NRA because of mail waste...and

the spokespersons are psychos. Nugent is right about many things, but he is not a person that would encourage the masses to follow. Then there's some other rich, wannabe spiritual hunter turd who uses your membership money to go on safaris...wtfover

EDIT: So yeah my post is in the wrong place. I agree with the topic poster...get rid of the middleman and support a real candidate.

Don't bash them too bad....

No need to bash the national RNC, (or the Iowa GOP). We don't want to give the News pundits any negative ammunition to throw at Paul supporters. These organizations are self serving anyway. The best interest of the United States is not one of their top priorities, so you have to take their worth with a grain of salt. Watching weekend news, you see that the news guys are doing their best to get Huckabee in the limelight, hoping that he'll diffuse the Ron Paul effort, and of course, Rudy and Mitt are well covered. It's a shame they don't see the light of Ron Paul's clarity in leadership skills, but it looks like they'll keep this position.

I did renew my lapsed LP membership

The girl I talked to had no problem accepting the lowest
level donation, as the rest has been going to RP.
Gotta remember our good ol' friends!

Well, the ''ya'll'' includes me... also turned down the RNC when they called our house - for the same reasons as everyone else has stated on this thread. I did tell them, they were welcome to send me the 'information in the mail' but the woman on the phone told me that they didn't want to waste postage and materials... ROFL!

I live in Texas' 23rd

I live in Texas' 23rd district mentioned by the article. Quico Canseco signs are up all over the place in my neighborhood. Not yard signs, I'm talking about signs on public right-of-ways where Ron Paul signs would have been removed.

I looked at Mr. Canseco's website www.cansecoforcongress.com but found it to be very generic and no real stand on the issues other than the standard "GOP" lines on every topic. No meat, all fluff. I wrote a letter to him asking for clarifications on his positions regarding some of his statements on the issues. He has not yet responded. I am anxiously awaiting his response. It has only been a few days. Perhaps sometime this week.

Nothing That I Could See

...on his web site about Iraq, other than an indirect reference to its cost.

We need Ron Paul type folks (supporters) to run for Congress

Seriously... many have been going to Republican Meetings to try and figure out how to become Delegates and Precinct Chairs, many more should - learn how the process works and get involved - run for Congress if you have to.

We can not know who we're voting for because the Republican party is not what it should be... like Canseco for example... I mean, doesn't it just make you want to vote for him seeing those lovely photo's of him and his family on the website? Augh! Even a letter, if you get a reply will be meaningless pretty much.

My Group 449 has been

My Group 449 has been working hard at finding candidates and i received confirmation last night that he is going to run.... now we just have to decide on timing the announcement as filing deadline isn't till feb. here...

Edit:
He'll be running as a GOP but more of a libertarian GOP kinda like Paul, go figure guess freedom is popular after all

NRA No Way!!!

I will never again be apart of the NRA. I have been a life member of the GOA, (Gun Owners of America), Larry Pratts organization for over a year now and have never been more proud to be a "member" of a gun organization!

Don

Who does the NRA support?

I went over to the NRA website and I could not find any information on who they endorse. The "crawl" near the top of their site did say something about Thomson (I forgot what it was) and that Bill Richerson is a Pro-Gun Democrat.

No longer supporting the RNC

I too have stopped all funding to the RNC. It is obvious they only want my money so that they can push their own agenda. The polls they send are a joke. Questions are phrased in a way that you have to agree with their position which is an open ended invitation to continue the status quo. Now where do they ask for your written opinion, only your money.

I did respond to my state Republican survey and contributed money because they actually had real questions and real choices. Like; who do you support for president? I wanted them to know that real life long republicans like myself are supporting Ron Paul.

I encourage all of you to join your state republican party and county republican party as well. This is how we will get our party back. One county at time.

yep I quit the GOP as

yep I quit the GOP as well.......during Katrina. I quit my state GOP because they are as useless as the national group. They are just not serious about Liberty. Period............then again either is the NRA (and I'm a benefactor member)

I said basically the same to the DNC about 2 months ago...

I said basically the same to the DNC about 2 months ago... when they called asking for money to keep the Congress in the hands of the democrats... I suggested they do something about the Iraq war to earn that money...

yeah... that would be

yeah... that would be equivilent to me asking my boss for a raise when i had not accomplished the goals he set for me when he hired me. Not likely to happen. Good Job!

Sooooweeeet!!

Nice! Way to go!!

I agree

with sleuth51. These are all great stories!! This is just a small example of the expotential growth that Dr. Paul speaks of during his interviews one, two or three people at a time. You would think the RNC would start seeing the writing on the wall.

way to go lol

I started as a republican then became a dem then finally an indep untill now a proud paulman........."Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote."

My dad, (a bush 2000 voter)

My dad, (a bush 2000 voter) gets calls from the GOP and he used to just hang up without saying a word now, he lets them talk just enough to plug Ron Paul then hangs up. So far, I have converted my immediate family and in-laws.

As a matter of fact, I told my mom about Ron Paul and a week later one her neighbors stopped by to promote the good Dr. Simply amazing.

My Rejection of the RNC was a few years ago

A few years ago I got some calls about continuing my support of the Republican party. I let them know in no uncertain terms how disappointed I was in the way they were spending. I told them how disappointed I was in their lack of social security reform. I told them they would never see another nickle from me. If they couldn't get anything done while holding both houses and the presidency, what was the point of giving them more money?

The money I saved the past few years I now donate to Ron Paul. The joy of giving to a good cause is back.

What a great story!

Keep this tread going. I love these stories. I'm not a registered Republican, so I won't get these calls.
