HR 1207 RESPONSE: g. miller (d) 7th dist., ca

here's the response from my rep in congress:

Dear :

Thank you for contacting me to share your views regarding the Federal Reserve System, and your support for legislation to make some changes in the practices and procedures of the Federal Reserve in order to make it more open and accountable to the Congress and the American public.

The autonomous Federal Reserve, in its influence and independence, holds the power to change interest rates and thus the level and overall performance of the nation's economic activity. The independence that the Federal Reserve must have to insulate monetary policy from political pressures also removes the Fed from the normal processes of accountability that apply to every other agency of the Federal Government. The trick is to make the Federal Reserve more accountable to the American people without jeopardizing its independence and its ability to conduct monetary policy free of political pressure.

I believe that the ability of Congress to oversee the Federal Reserve with more and better information on the Reserve's policies and procedures will create the opportunity for elected officials to play a role in the decision-making process of an unelected body, and in influencing monetary policy.

I appreciate your concerns on this matter, and look forward to reviewing legislation that addresses how the Federal Reserve operates when it comes before the full House for consideration. Thanks again for writing.

Sincerely,

GEORGE MILLER

Member Of Congress, 7th District

It sounds like he's saying

"thank you, but no thank you". It's not the elected officials that have much pull with the Fed, it's the Rothschilds and Rockefellers who lead the Fed. The elected officials can assume their positions based on what the real moneymakers choose to do.

He seems to be playing it too safe in his wording:

"The trick is to make the Federal Reserve more accountable to the American people without jeopardizing its independence and its ability to conduct monetary policy free of political pressure"

The TRICK is to GET RID of this behemoth and re-ratify the charter back to the independent States where it belongs in the first place, so each State's currency is competitive!!!!!

END THE FED!

jeopardizing its independence

the "jeopardizing its independence" argument is the only argument AGAINST hr1207 i've heard from the sheeple.

we have to be prepared with good data, logic and reason against this argument.

i would argue that transparency does not preclude independence, but i'm not sure that's an argument sheeple will simply agree with.

i've also heard people say that the fed is only independent on paper, but in reality, interest rates fall during election years thus proving that they do bend to political pressure

So is he signing on?

It seems like it. I'm trying to put into words my thought to Mike Thompson... but I have a hard time getting past the feeling that guys like Thompson don't want an audit (I think those who have POWER that never has any worthy challangers are hiding, and why their answers are so lame. This answer appeared to be in agreement with HR 1207.

Ding ding ding.....

The ones with nothing to hide as well as a few who think they've covered their a$$es are the only ones lining up to co-sponsor. Watch the ones who haven't yet signed. This legislation is like pointing neon lights at the crooks who want to keep this in the dark because (A) they understand it (most don't have a clue) and (B) their masters would not approve. And (C) some are waiting to see what others do.... nothing like brainless accomodators running this country!

This legislation is brilliant, it has opened the door to us to expose those to the public on a level that hits their pocket books. Tell everybody everywhere if your rep hasn't signed on, ask them what are they hiding... challenge their thought process..... perhaps they are serving themselves and not us, do it loud enough that others can hear you. Hope everyone is making hay while the sun is shining on this and jamming the phone lines today!

miller time

i think he really straddled the fence here....

my take is that he intends NOT to co-sponsor.

is mike thompson a CA congressman?
