Someone is leaking these unconfirmed cases (could even be pollen allergies!!!) to the press deliberately within seconds to fan the mass hysteria.

Newsflash: 36,000 people die from flu every year in the US.
Fact: None of these figures are confirmed, the numbers keep changing from the WHO (from 150 down to just 7), and there's no way labs could be keeping up in verifying exactly what type of flu this is.

Who is panicking and/or "fearmongering"? The Google map started out as a good resource for people to see where confirmed and possible cases were showing up, but isn't being updated. The OP named a location which wasn't on the Google map, as did I. No big, eh?
If I had wanted to monger a bit 'o fear, I could have posted that Dartmouth recalled all its Spanish-language students from Mexico City a couple days ago and placed them on a 7-day quarantine before returning to classes.
Please save your constant, knee-jerk responses to all things flu for a true "panic" thread, OK? This is (well, it started OUT as!) a discussion referencing cases not yet on the Google map, and not a panic or fear thread.

Preface what with disclaimers? When I post something like this, I provide a link. These two posts of mine on this thread are my only posts about the flu- because they relate to my area and they aren't on the Google flu map.
Perhaps you are mistaking me for another poster?
And as far as knee-jerk responses go, I do not spend my time monitoring this forum for any & all mention of the flu, in order to pop in and make rude posts regarding the psychology, intelligence and gullibility of those discussing the flu.

I'm not the one reporting unconfirmed things that are only being reported to feed into the mass hysteria that are easily found all over TV or the MSM media. Somebody needs to step in and remind people to be reasonable.
How about something useful, like the child in Texas didn't die from a flu virus, but actually died from taking the vaccination? That hasn't been investigated, but that's certainly something people would need to know.
People need to be warned not to take the vaccine or Tamiflu. People need to be aware that this is not an epidemic and is being blown way out of proportion for Big Pharma profit and trying to force mandatory vaccinations.

My BF works in Nashville, brought something home.... I have a cold, slight sore throat and cough but no fever or weakness. Need more info. Hopefully my anti-viral herb teas will help me, I don't go to Drs unless its life or death.

I'm sure the Mexico officials he met with were briefed on this whole mass flu hysteria fraud and the plan details were worked out. Nothing in politics happens accidentally.
Problem-Reaction-Solution
One day, one of the scares will work enough for them to get the borders closed and controlled like they want. Till then, I don't care if they tell me Godzilla is crossing that border, for over a hundred years that symptom hasn't shown this problem and to me it's a trap to think it's now suddenly a solution.

It's been confirmed for a couple days now, still not on the flu map. Two brothers, ages 9 & 13, who had recently returned from Mexico.
