Interview With Dr. Katherine Albrecht, Real-ID & Spychips

0 votes

On April 20th, Dr. Katherine Albrecht, best-selling author of Spychips and GCN Radio Talk Show host, came to Albany, NY to speak to over 500 people(completely sold out event) at a John Birch Society Talk. Earlier that day, CFL NY State Coordinator, Steven Vasquez sat down with Dr. Albrecht to discuss RFID, Real-ID, National ID Cards, Enhanced Driver's License, Privacy, and the Constitution. We plan to use this video as part of our ongoing lobbying to stop the implementation of REAL-ID in the NYS legislation and the general education to the public of this intrusion of our liberties and freedom.

"Short Out" RF

Hi All,

One way to prevent an RFID reader from reading an RFID tag is to "short out" the RF energy from the RFID reader at the RFID tag. You can do this by wrapping loops of wire or aluminum foil around the RFID tag or device carrying the tag (the wire or foil must be connected at the ends). When RF from the RFID reader hits the wire or foil, the energy is "shorted out" by the metal surrounding the RFID tag. Even if the energy from the RFID reader is great enough to "wake up" the RFID tag, the RFID tag's RF energy (i.e. its response that sends its data to the RFID reader) should get shorted out, since the energy the tag sends is relatively low.

Well just for the record

This is totally pompous of me but I just wanted to say that this gentleman is completely correct but nothing is "shorted out". You are simply creating a Faraday Cage around the device and if the device relies on external energy to power it it could be very effective. It is one of Maxwell's laws that states that the total charge at the center of an enclosed metal sphere is always zero. So if you wrap your RFID chip in foil or completely with copper wire your are creating a metal enclosed sphere. This prevents any device from receiving any type RF or otherwise electrical signal if it is inside the sphere. Like how cell phones often don't work well in elevators or a lot of big box retail stores. Because they are big metal boxes. Nothing is shorted out though. Thanks for indulging me guys.

Another glance at the nightmarish future

that I have no idea how to protect my children from.

Is it true that

you can put your DL in the microwave & it will destroy the chip? Has anyone tried it?

I didn't have time to watch the end of the video

Does she take off her clothes?

Shes' very knowledgeable. I listen to her radio show on ...

GCN. Can't always catch her live in the morning, but I do listen to her podcasts. Big plus, she plays great music, too!

Graphic Arts Guru Here...

Letting you know that RFID tech can actually be printed on to papers and other printed products. The printing industry is going wild right now with experimenting in RFID. I actually went to a graphic arts trade show last year in chicago and talked to the people at the RFID booth and they said that the government is very interested and has taken out contracts with them for printed RFID tech.

Even scarier yet

I work for an equipment manufacturere that makes dryers to dry the ink, and they are not very far away from printing CPU's. They are already testing Photovoltaic Transistors used in Solar Panels!

This important issue. I'v sent this to all I know.

Thanks for posting this

I hope people will watch.

Yes, thanks for doing this vital interview and posting it

Stephen - truly incredible information. With all of the technology we now have, the only way to live in a sane world is to bring awareness - thank God for Dr. Katherine Albrecht, such a beautiful and intelligent lady.
