**Attn: Californians -- AB 1121 Is In Appropriations!

0 votes

We were able to get AB 1121, the California Ranked Voting Bill, through the Assembly Elections Committee! This bill allows cities and counties to adopt ranked voting systems for local elections, such as Instant Runoff Voting and choice voting.

Instant Runoff Voting, for example, is a system that removes the uncertainly in a three-way contest. After the votes are counted, the candidate with the least amount of votes is removed from the ballot, thereby, showing the actual results had that candidate not have been on the ballot in the first place. Candidates can run with impunity, without "spoiling" their colleagues chances. And voters get to vote on the candidate they like the best, without making any unnecessary sacrifices.

This is precisely the same system that is in use to elect state party officials and primaries within the parties, except there is no need to visit the polls twice. It has also already been adopted in SF, Oakland, and Berkeley. A choice voting referendum passed in Davis in 2006, but the city was unable to implement the measure because it is a general law city.

The Bill is in approprations. Please help push this through by using the contact form below. Here is a simple form you can use:

When Paul came together with Nader and Baldwin

This is what it was all about! Everything we talk about on here at the dailypaul. The calls from G Edward Griffin and Ron Paul to take back the GOP. Other calls for the creation of a third-party.

But the false dillemma is solved immediately by runoff voting. We can actually vote out of love of what this country can become, instead of out of fear of what might happen if we don't get in line.

Please use the above linked form to contact these assembly members.
