The thing about Ron Paul is, no matter how far back you go into his writing & video archives, he is always displays humility, accuracy, consistency and prescience about the events of the day. The same cannot be said of other politicians, as Barney Frank demonstrates in this clip from 2005.
You're not going to be seeing a collapse [in the housing market] that you see when people talk about a bubble... Thanks for the investment advice, Barney. I'll take it under consideration.

Ron Paul not always right
In his 1982 book, The Case for Gold, Ron Paul harped on that there were 10 years of paper money (1971-1981) and predicted the collapse of said paper money perhaps in "several years". Although he continually hedged his predictions in his book, his tone did not imply that paper money would still be around 27 years after the book was written given his sense of urgency after just 10 years.
There is a reluctance to trying to time the stock market, and then there is missing out on a 26-year-long bull run. At some point, avoiding a quick trigger finger turns into letting a quarter century pass you by. If one continually proclaims the economy will go down, after waiting long enough, eventually it will.
Also in The Case for Gold, Ron Paul attributes the double-digit interest rates at the time as a symptom of paper money and a harbinger of hyperinflation, when in fact it was the opposite. It was engineered by Fed chair Paul Volker to restrict the money supply and try to make the paper dollar as "good as gold". The high interest rates were due to a scarcity of money as engineered by the central bank, not due to too high of a money supply. Volker's plan in fact worked through most of the 80's until the next bubble, the S&L crisis.

Now, I of course agree with Ron Paul, even the 1982 Ron Paul, that paper money is fundamentally unsound. But he did not forsee back then how long it could last on life support, and he erroneously tied the double-digit interest rates of the time to a supposed surplus of money.
what RP did not forsee...
is that "government" would shamlessly and massively "corrupt" the system to a level even he could not imagine...i believe he thought they must, at some time, allow the "bubbles" to burst...they did not! that was his only miscalculation...the scope and size of their corruption...
he has learned his lesson, though...when asked recently how long this latest and greatest bailout could go on...he replied, it could go on for years, maybe 10 to 15 years...

Maybe we should start an e-mail campaign and just send the link to plant the seed in the minds of those in his district that he has no clue how to perform research or look into something and make an informed decision rather than just spouting that the housing market will never cause a problem because a house is a tangible thing vs. the dotcom bubble which was destined to bubble and pop? That's like giving a shotty comparison between colors and numbers...they aren't remotely related!

The bottom line is the CIA and other criminal elements of our government and the elite are the ones who put people in these leadership roles. Just take a look who's the leadership of the house and Senate: Pelosi, Frank, Feinstein, Reid. They all share two characteristics: they're really dumb, and then they're a bunch of groveling disgusting people who stand for nothing. Do you think this is a coincidence? Think again!
And once you run the committee you pretty much run everything. This is why none of Ron Paul's bills get out of committee.
I would hazard a guess that
