My fellow patriots,
Thank you for all you have done to help me in my journey over the past years. It has been an honor to stand shoulder to shoulder with you. Slowly but surely, in our struggle for freedom from authoritarianism, we are making progress. As long as we continue to hang together, we will not hang separately!
After leaving the Marine Corps, I joined the monumental fight to end the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, bring our troops home to defend America, and restore a Constitutional foreign policy. Having won the public to our side, it is time we take the fight to the capitol, to the real enemies of the Constitution. Posturing against war while voting to fund it is unacceptable! Tragically, we still have a government that behaves like it owns us, rather than serves us.
Since I was first politically active, people have been encouraging me to run for Congress, including a recent effort to “draft” me to run (draftkokesh.com). We need rallying points to keep our movement invigorated and growing, and if a run for Congress from my home town of Santa Fe can serve as one, I will gladly step up. In that spirit, I am excited to announce the formation of the Kokesh for Congress Exploratory Committee.
While I am asking for your financial support in this effort, I want to make it clear that I am willing to make the personal sacrifices necessary to raise the standard of our national leadership. If elected, I will not accept the Congressional salary of approximately $170,000, but only the national average income. It is unbearable in these difficult times, for Congress to tell the American people what is best for us economically while they vote themselves another pay raise and burden our children with impossible debt. Enough is enough!

Please sign up and donate there as we prepare for the launch of a complete site on June 1st.It is time once again to draw the line between patriots and loyalists. I am a patriot because I am committed to the ideals of liberty and equality this country is destined to achieve, loyal to no false authority. I know that much more than political resistance is required to achieve a paradigm shift, but we can do no wrong standing up for what we know to be morally right. Regardless of my decision, I remain eternally committed to the cause of liberty.

I recently...
...came across a video post from AK at a teaparty (I think), and was so interested, called my wife to have her watch his speech.
I remember remarking that this guy could become one of the leaders so desperately lacking in the patriot movement. He is angry and bitter and yet so full of hope.
Adam Kokesh threatens the entrenched by empowering the pitch fork class. There are not many like him.
Unfortunately, Congress is the LAST place you want this guy. There, he will all but completely disappear and I for one want to hear so much more from him.

Would Gary Johnson support him?
It's been a while since I have dealt with New Mexico politics, but I think that former Governor Gary Johnson would be a good ally for Adam Kokesh. If he runs as a GOP candidate, there is a very real chance that he could win the party nomination as there isn't a very strong neo-con presence in northern NM.

It was my dream
that Adam runs for office ever since I first heard him speak at the March on DC. I cheered when I read that he is announcing a run!!!
He has all the qualities needed for a good candidate. We patriots need this good news. It will be our shot in the arm to transfuse this revolution with new blood.
I am definitely supporting Adam every way I can. I live in Arizona and I can be there in hours to help canvas or whatever.

Has Adam chosen a political
Has Adam chosen a political party? In ABQ, we have Jerry Scott (Ron Paul supporter) running for congress on the Constitutional party. Maybe Adam should consider that party and the 2 can campaign together?
We also have Greg Zanetti running for Governor as a Republican. Although, he is more libertarian he felt necessary to run on the Republican ticket to go against unconstitutional Heather Wilson. She voted for the Patriot Act and the Bush bailout.

I think
he attended LP events, do not know if he is a registered LP, but if he wants to have a chance to win, he should run as a Republican only (he may have been a Republican also). As CP, LP or Indy he will have zero chance, he may score double digits and the best for a third or Indy party, but I doubt it he will will then. He needs to get all the GOP vote, most Indpendents as well as "soft Democrats" and as he says "Kucinich Democrats".
Should Jerry Scott not run as a Republican witht he support of the CP, just like Delia Lopez last year and others?, and also Zanetti?
It is not about sending a message anymore, Paul has already started this, it is about winning to give the message to congress.
I think the GOP should be much more open now than last year for Ron Paul supporters and smart ones will realise he represents the GOP platform the best, or most of it. The GOP lost quite a lot in NM, so they would want to win and I would think if even pro-war ones in the GOP knows an antiwar conservative has the best chance to beat a liberal Democrat, they will chose and support the anti-war GOP. Also, they may also be against the Afghanistan war now, even if it is a thing they know they can use against Obama to win votes. Also, economic and monetary issues are now very important, it does connect with the war of course, but to the average Republican this is now becoming most important.

If you live in NM you are well aware that Santa Fe is VERY liberal and I don't think he would have a chance of winning as a republican against Ben Lujan-Dem. I could be wrong. If Adam runs on the CP or LP I think he could pull votes from Dems, Reps and Indy's. One factor is the economy, if New Mexicans feel that Ben hasn't done a good job they may look for another candidate.
I know Jerry Scott and I feel he won't change political parties. He is locked in to the CP. This actually could be a good thing.
As for Zanetti, he is running as a Republican. NM is split 50/50 of Dems and Reps. The Dems are north and the Rep are south so to speak. ABQ, is a mix bag of course being the largest city.

Very rarely in life can we find a hero
worthy of mentioning or promoting. Well I can say with authority that Adam Kokesh is a hero of mine and I am very happy to see this true American Patriot run for congress. A man of principles and bravery I must stand behind for he will fight and we know he will for our civil liberties. When Adam calls for the fight I can tell you one man that will be by his side, that man is me!

If nominated, he would be up against Ben R. Lujan, who is serving his first term in Congress. He probably is well known since his father was involved with state politics for a number of years.
