Police Nazis Tase Naked Wizard!

Johnathan Fredrick Felch of San Louis Obispo, Known as the ‘Naked Wizzard’. Was arrested at the Caochlella Music & Arts Festival which was held on the Empire Polo fields. He was arrested on the suspicion of being drunken and disorderly in public.
Felch refused to put on his clothes and the overweight police officers wrestled him to the ground, kneed him to the chest and tased him profusely.

FromIdaho - There are 300K cops in this Corporatist Society
In a free-market non-lethal weapons would be in the free-market and competition would be very high -- We should have evolved passed the Taser by now.
I'm trying to prepare DailyPaul (with Michael Nystrom) for "open-minded" exchange.
These absolutist judgements on whole sectors of society have to go if we want this to be the place where people interested in liberty want to come.
Look at the "Truth" movement -- They say (constantly) "Gov't Inside Job."
There are 1,800,000 people working for the federal gov't. Saying "gov't inside job" is to suggest it's a matter of policy -- It's also like saying "we have no flippin' clue as to whose invovled.
Which is why Ron Paul (and myself) support a deeper investigation (based on 911-Science) but do not accept the wild claims of 911-Speculation.
Murray Rothbard makes excellent arguments on Anarcho-Capitalist Police and Military "Privatized" Forces.

911?
Where did that come from?
The problem at least with the police is that they dont have "good cop" \ "bad cop" labels applied to their uniforms. Maybe that is the solution. We will do a Red, Yellow, Green label warning system run by private organizations to warn individuals of a police officers past behaviour and mental fitness.
Green label = No infractions or evidence of infractions or mental disablilities.
Yellow Label = Questionable moral behaviour and ethics and/or mental health problems.
Red Label = Known moral, ethical, or mental deficiencies.
Also since they do not fire and/or prosecute bad cops as often as they should we must require that police with yellow labels are only allowed to check out night sticks and red labeled police get a radio similiar to neighborhood watch. Both red and yellow labeled police are not to take part in any internal investigations or administration duties.
How is that for a "label" system?
FromIdaho: Hahahahaha
Agreed!! Let's do it!
Or maybe we can just embrace the non-generalistic type-casting and all the "predominately" good cops (though imperfect given an impossible job)
to join the C4L and try and "cure" the problem as brothers rather than type-cast every cop with "Nazi" - how'd that be pumpkin ;)
Am I the only one who understands Individual-Anarchy here?
A bad cop is an individual -- Like when Ron Paul only wanted to go after bin Laden and not the entire Middle East.
If we follow the average "I hate police" commentary in here then the Bush Admin were right for attacking all Iraqis for the Saudi bin Laden's bombing of the twin towers -- Or whomever was invovled.
Ron Paul treats people as individuals and so will I.
If citizens stop abdicating their authority then raising children who abdicate their authority (some of who grow up to be cops) then maybe our "cops" will become perfect.
Or maybe we fight for a free-society wherein 80% of the police force would be un-needed owing to drug/vice legality?
Most cops I know want drugs to be legalized. I just see the 900K sworn cops (300K on the street cops) as allies -- potential RP voters.
Maybe we should call them all Nazi's.

I think everyone
should have taken their clothes off.
"A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself within" W. Durant
hahahaha - that would have been a great video
The cops wanted to let him go -- Plain and simple. Who knows how long they were working with this guy to get his clothes back on.
That guy was probably 230lbs -- On drugs -- Feeling no pain -- No way to determine if he will turn violent or hurt himseld.
When you abdicate self-rule sometimes un-pleasant things happen -- Look at our society our gov't. It is a reflection of one generations choice to abdicate self-rule for gov't protectionism and baby-sitting.
Rather than demonize the institution of military and police -- Let's chalk it up to poor training and Corporatist Society.
"Police Nazi" -- Wow!
Hmmmm - Nazi Cops/Military who killed 12M people vs American Cops/Military who tasered an over-dosing abdicator of free-will; hmmmm, yes yes give them the same title!! Hahaha.
Flame on Flame of Udun!

thing is, wizard did nothing new
I've been seeing "wizards" since the 70s.. my guess is they are "reliving woodstock", and for years, bands and events that drew crowds known to attract people doing drugs, there was ROCK MED http://www.rockmed.org/
Rock med was trained to get guys like wizard to put their clothes back on, and much much nore. I've been to concerts where Rock Med had dozens of "wizards" lined up against a wall with cold compresses to their heads and towels around them, and there they all were, lined up and giggling... but Rock Med saved lives and for the most part, people didn't know they were there.
What the police did here was wrong.
It goes to show that the police are not a good replacement for doctors.

Well said Granger!
I can't argue with that.
Rock Med is a great free-market solution.
So, where were they?
Cops (from my experience) hate working these events -- so who makes them (other than commanders)?
The City!
Why does the city demand it? Because Fair Ground Councils or Arena Councils form unions to force the city to make the mayor assign "publically paid" cops to attend.
In a free-market private events are handled by private security -- Groups like Rock Med are awesome.
Unionism is the bastard child of Corporatism.
Want to end "police abuse" (which this was a weak example of it) then form Consumer Unions (vote out the corporatist and unionist). Strike the City and demand by voting force to make event promoters pay the full cost of private security and Rock Med, smile.

The event promoter
I once promoted a band and I hired security, the manager/owner of the property hired security and the city had the police (and I'm sure the FBI and CIA, DEA were there) Because I know about Rock Med and a few doctors, I was able to make a donation and have them have a booth to collect more donations, but I think, the music industry, live music industry, you get allot of promoters who never attended the concerts back in the 70s and they never saw how the drug culture, an underground was very willing to "self monitor" (they prefer it)... allot of the old promoters get out because the laws for events have been looking more and more authoritarian.. pat down searches to go to a concert?
You know, people ask about when will the rEVOLution start, and I would not be one bit surprized if it happened at a concert event.
It's insane to have an event with thousands of people and not have some kind of medical help available on retainer (because I have met allot of doctors who go to concerts and they are in no condition to help anyone).
WE ARE GOING TO WIN!

The "police" will NEVER have
The "police" will NEVER have any support from me. None. Cops are on a power trip they get off on using their tasers and will do anything and everything they can to find a reason to beat people ... so who cares if that guy was naked big deal ... yeah that guy should have kept his clothes on but what those cops did was wrong. And it will only get worse. I have a question, why every time cops have a person under their control do they have so much trouble getting the cuffs on? Assholes.
What if everyone just ignored the naked guy?
That would really make him angry wouldn't it?
The Naked Attention Wizard didn't strike me as remotely abusive, aggressive or threatening, so why the cops felt the need to take him down is beyond me.
"Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." - Benito Mussolini.
well...
I have to say that indecent exposure is illegal and the cops have the right to make him put clothing on. Other than that, sure, they were pretty brutal. Just playing devils advocate.
Brad
re: "Just playing devils advocate."
try not to do that please.
The Knee-Bomb was wrong.
I train cops and the fat-one needs to be re-trained -- however, most of you do not "deal with" people overdosing -- This guy was not just "drunk."
This guy was showing acute seratonin syndrome (the public nudeness is a dead give away) -- It happens when street-level MDMA (Ecstacy) is "stepped-on" with other drugs, such as PMA -- PMA like Ecstacy can cause a huge release in serotonin, but also act as an MAO-A inhibitor. Thus Seratonin Syndrome.
Prolonged cocaine use and methamphetamine (sp?) use can cause similar symptoms.
The public nudeness though is a regularly observed phenomenon.
Just ask any cop who've babysat childish druged out "festival attendees" -- these folk just want a simple evening of debauchery and to abdicate their liberty to such an extent that the event promoters must hire police to keep the peace (babysit).
Let's just pretend that the cops see this guy is naked (obviously drugged out) ask him to put his clothes on (at the request of the even promoters) and decide to walk away. If this guy were to spaz out and hurt himself or someone else the city would be (WOULD BE - as in it happens all the time) sued.
What was really amazing was that the cops in the beginning said, "you can put your clothes back on and go dance and have fun." They were going to let him go. Drugs and Public Nudeness and All - that shocked me more than the poor arrest techniques.
Try arresting a sweaty doughy naked thrashing man -- who feels no pain.
Baby-Sitting -- Baby's Gone Wild - hahahaha.
The knee-bomb was over-the-top -- The Pain Compliance (wrist locks) over-the-top -- Taser was probably not charged fully or the guy was really really really loaded.
Privatize Everything -- Then you would blame the Event Promoters who are very aware that their events bring out drug addicts and alcohol abusers -- Put the blame on their profit-drivers.
The cops would rather be home with their families -- trust me.
I've never met a cop who likes to work these events -- EVER!!!
*&^ Constitution --- Constitutional Rationality
give me a break.
if you don't like to work the events. don't work at them.
Annica2 -- There's no choice, in some departments its a turn
taking thing.
Do you really think they can just not show up?
I don't know what world you live in -- We are not in a Free-Society wherein the individual abdicates to no one and pays the full price for his choices. In a Corporatist Society this right here happens - all the time.
People leave their houses go dose up on heavy drugs and require baby sitting to get through the night. That is an abdication of self-rule.
If you want better tactics then there are three things you can do (other than gripe).
#1 Be willing to pay more taxes to get better training
or
#2 Join the C4L (go door to door) - (precinct) - (educate) people on free-markets and the privatization of military and police
or
#3 Flame On!
I personnally get involved -- I train them.
What do you do other than complain?
If you are in the C4L or involved locally on some-other level to End the Fed or whatever than you are doing the minimum.
I'm just saying "police nazi" is overt language -- This cop will not get sued or even reprimanded -- for the arrest or the tasering. The knee-bomb will put him in hot water. Departments hate negative press.
I love video cameras
*&^ Constitution --- Constitutional Rationality
You train cops?
What do you train them to do?
They should've thrown some clothes at that idiot.
RS: Hahahaha
I train them in defensive tactics (non-lethal) and conscious-sleep.
They actually told him in the beginning to put his clothes back on and go enjoy the dancing.
We didn't get to see when it all began -- they were probably reporting to a complaint.
This is the kind of naked guy who comes up and hugs everyone.
I've been tasered and it hurts, it locks you up, but you recover almost instantly.
If the police were in the free-market and so were weaponologists then better less-than-lethal weaponry would have been devised by now.
Have you been to events like this? I promise you these cops were in a cloud screen of open marijuana use -- they weren't there to arrest drug addicts, someone complained about the overtly friendly nudist and they responded relunctantly.
Imagine if it was your job to do this -- what would you have done differently given the same training (they are under-trained).
Society needs free-market sheep dogs to babysit the infantile drug users at events like this -- It is a barbaric task and during barbaric tasks sometimes things are less than ideal; I've seen a lot worse.
Octobox
*&^ Constitution --- Constitutional Rationality
I am not buying your argument
If the cops want to take him in they could have gone about it much differently. The fact is that these thugs abused and tortured the guy.
These cops are far scarier criminals than this drunken naked guy will ever be. Abuses like this should not be tolerated.
Ron Paul is my President.
Ron Paul is my President.
So since
the guy was naked and doped up he deserved to be treated as subhuman? If one police officer commits an offense such as this and the other two just look on they are all guilty. Retrained? How about fired?
Yes the naked guy was stupid but I do believe the police too often resort to unwarranted force as in this case. What happened to peace officers?
Don't be so sensitive - Of course not (on a humanistic level)
He was treated "sub-human" -- He was naked in public and obviously on Ecstacy (or something close to it); cops are not trained to do psycho-analysis to determine if this one naked over dosing individual is potentially harmful to himself or others.
"Police Nazi" is a bit of an overt phrase (the word "nazi" no longer has meaning -- it's like the word "guru") -- I guess you ignored the dialog in the beginning (and who knows when it all started or how long they were working him) where they said to just put his clothes back on and go dance / have fun.
Octobox
*&^ Constitution --- Constitutional Rationality
Wow!!!
If the cops are not trained to analyze the guy or situation they shouldn't be issued weapons! You keep making a case against them, not intentionally, by trying to justify thier actions in some twisted way. The guy was on drugs, he could of hurt someone, or
he could of hurt himself (group think ideology).
The real answer is they were not justified in thier actions if you use common sense no matter how you try to twist it. Fire the bad ones and hire responsible PEACE Officers.
That "he could have hurt himself" made me think of this song.

Yes, because he is naked and doped up he *IS* sub-human.
