-----------------------------------------------
GOP Turn To Jeb Bush For Help

ARLINGTON, Va. -- After losing the White House and control of the House and Senate, the Republican party is now turning to Jeb Bush for help.

The former Florida governor took part Saturday in the first town hall meeting for the "National Council For A New America" in Arlington, Va. The goal of the event was to help chart out a new direction for the GOP.

Joining Bush was former Gov. Mitt Romney and U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor. The group discussed national security, health care and the economy.

We cannot, must not let this

We cannot, must not let this piece of trash on the R ticket. Pure, plain and simple. Cannot happen. That's if we love this country.

Puppets come and puppets go but the world's stage is getting cluttered.

F

Bush(all 3), F Romney, and the whole lot of them. When this shits over, I don't think we will have anything left, but a lot of pissed off Americans, and a lot of scared politicians.

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

If you see Jeb Bush on the ticket

All that it means is that the duopoly with the shared agenda is really really wanting you to vote for the Democratic puppet instead of the Repub puppet.

Sounds like a set-up

First, get the republican base all riled up and angry with Neo-cons Bush, McCain and Romney appearing to be in charge of the party. (Even bad mouth Reagan a bit) People call talk radio, vent their anger, and we hear of this great wave of anger within the republican party. After a year or so, closet neo-cons Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin and some other republican tell us the Reagan revolution is not dead. The media goes along with it. Gives us some fake poling data showing a huge resurgence in the republican party, as the so called "true" conservatives wrestle the party back from the "rhinos". The republicans go into the next election with these "real" conservatives, and they win the election, and the same agenda that has gone on the past 25 years continues. (More wars, more central bank control, and a stronger federal government.)

Isn't that what we have now?

Seriously, are you all still playing along with that "our guy is better than your guy", "our party is better than your party" bullsh*t?

C'mon... I thought we were all well past that stage.

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

Jeb Bush is an empty suit.

Jeb Bush is an empty suit. The self appointed leaders of the Republican Party just don't get it. The neocons will say and do anything and everything to hold onto power. I predict that if Jeb Bush runs for President, the membership in the Party will drop into the teens.

Is this some kind of sick joke ?

I'd vote Democratic before any of the above ^ mentioned sucks !

I thought

Obama was already Bush 3 on steroids? Hmm I don't think the GOP will have any chance with Bush 4. Bush 43's approval rating has sunk to 26%, e.g. lower than when he left office 100 plus days ago.

What makes you assume Jeb Bush will be selected?
Don't worry too much, we have Doug Wead on our side, who knows the Bush intimately and has done a study on the children of all the presidents.
He has written Jeb Bush may only have a chance - theoretically - if there is another 9/11.

Doug Wead is a good speaker and has campaigning experience with Bush 1 and 2 and can get the Bush Republicans.

Notice that this group's agenda does not differ really from Bush 2. Stephen Gordon wrote a nice article on it. They have no invited Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin. I assume Gingrich must be angry about it, which is a good think: let them h\fight over the bone and destroy/weaken each other in the process and we will be there to pick it up. On domestic policy Rush Limbaugh is very close to Dr. Paul's actually and Ann Coulter said she agrees with everything Dr. Paul' says, not only after the election, also during the primaries she said he is excellent. Now they do represent in a certain sense the conservative base of the GOP and the GOP is afraid he might break off if the GOP does not change.
We are also alligned with Dick Armey's FreedomWorks, who has some financial muscle. Armey is also an Austrian, like Dr. Paul and they know each other. he was also an author of Contract with America that lead to 1994. He was originally skeptical and against the Iraq war, and in a BBC interview last year I heard him clearly saying it was a big mistake. Thus he is not on Newt's neocon "angle". He also has Steve Forbes with him. Now I know Forbes was part of PNAC and supported Giuliani initially last year, but he is basically pro-life and campaigned for Dr. Paul n 2000 when he was running in the primaries and Dr. paul probably supported him , just like Gary Johnson. Both Dr. paul and Johnson did not endorse Bush, as far as I know.

Now I think Dr. Paul should stay in the GOP, Kissinger and Co. would like him to leave for a third party, as they know he would be in the dessert again, with no influence. Dr. Paul is building a coalition in congress and they are working much better now, behind the scenes. Work to take over the GOP. It is part of a process, it will never happen in 3 months time or so, so do not discourage, have patience and work hard.
Especially in the Northeast and in places where the GOP is very weak, we have a golden opportunity to take control of the GOP in those areas.

Another strategy is to attend their townhall meetings and then tell them what you really want. Bush, Romney, Cantor, Crist, McCaine tc voted all for the bailouts and their support among young people are weak. We must go with our strength (young people), persuade some Obama voters, anti-war left/pro-civil liberties, and break into some of the evangelicals, which has been a weak point and this is not too difficult to do. Forget about the neocons and believe we can win the battle for the soal of the GOP. Personally I hope Dr. Paul runs in 2012, it is way too early to announce this and would strategically also not be good. If 1207 gets past, it will be a huge gain for Dr. Paul and our movement and show bi-partisan support where most GOP congressman bills will probably never pass. I think we need to get Gary Johnson involved, promote him (he will decide in 18 month to two years only), but he should be more active now already. He could be an excellant VP for Dr. paul and campaign with him. If Dr. paul would decide not to run, then he is the option for us and wuould also be for the whole GOP the best solution, e.g. be able to get Independents and soft Democrats. Sanford is OK, but on foreign policy the problem is he will be dependent on Newt Gingrich, as we saw. I believe he is sincere, but as a gov. he does not have a lot of foreign policy experience, neither as a freshman congressman earlier. Gary Johnson also brings NM into play for the GOP, he is not from a "typical southern state", e.g. the left cannot put him in a box and he would be able to make big inroads. His position is much closer to Dr. paul than Sanford, also regarding civil liberties, medical marjuana and the drug war, death penalty and was much more successful than Sanford with the state budget and he must have been popular with Hispanics as well, if he won 2 terms. he is also much more creative than Sanford IMHO.

We should also focus perhaps on working with some governors, like Butch Otter from indiana (as congressman he voted against the Iraq war, and is pretty libertarian), possibly Sarah Palin and a few others, also some senators like Tom Coburn (Dr. Paul's Liberty PAC contributed to him, and although he wrongly voted for the bailout last year, under pressure, he is really conservative and close to Dr. Paul in positions, also some congressman, perhaps Mark pence, in any case Dana Rohrabacher, Tom McClintock and others. Dr. Paul is just continuing to excel in interviews. he should continue to make youtube videos on important matters: it will get attention in the media, also form CNN. His compliment from Clinton would also help a lot to open up to also the media, who see the GOP in a moral crisis. Remember Dr. paul consistently opposed Bush and has a clear fiscal conservative and social libertarian record.

If a third Bush is elected president.

Then we will all have the answer to the question...Are our elections fixed?

Are Neo Cons

really democrats who have infiltrated the Republican Party?

Kind of. Back when this

Kind of. Back when this nation was founded we had Federalists and Republicans. Back then the fight wasn't about Left vs Right, it was about More vs Less. Adams was a Federalist, but a mild one. Hamilton was huge nasty Federalist. I can't even bear to keep $10 bills in my wallet, I always ask for change! Thomas Jefferson was a Republican. The names have changed meaning somewhat and now we have Democrat's and Republicans. Even though Lincoln ran on a Republican ticket, he was really a very early Democrat.

We've had nothing but Federalists lately, whether they call themselves Republican or Democrat. Save for Reagan. Our fight is the old fight that everyone else has forgotten it seems.

Republicrats

To use Dr. Paul's term for them --- They're all the same.

Obama = O.ne B.ig A.ss M.istake A.merica

Obama = O.ne B.ig A.ss M.istake A.merica

yes, they are the descendents

of the Scoop Jackson Democrats.
Reagan had the coalition of fiscal, social and "military" conservatives. IMHO that coalition is not viable anymore. Neocon philosophy and militarism lead to bigger govt. With the wide range of following, Dr. paul is imho able to get a new majority among fiscal, social conservatives, foreign policy realists and former nader/gravel democrats. The last will make up for the loss of the neocons, who is in any case flowing to Obama as we speak but alas the David Frum's and Kristol's will still stay in the GOP. They should simply be isolated, and then they can decide to leave to keep quiet.

Not democrats.

It's not quite accurate to call them democrats, either. They're the power-grubbers, who started out in the Federalist party, which then became the Whigs, who then hijacked the Republican party to turn them from an anti-slavery party into a federal supremacy party.

"The problem with trying to child-proof the world, is that it makes people neglect the far more important task of world-proofing the child." -- Hugh Daniel

yes

goes way back to when Barry Goldwater invited the LBJ Democrats into the GOP with "Conscious of a conservative", the brain behind the group remains kissinger, and since kissinger and so many GOP have committed so many war crimes, the neo new world order cons are joining the Democrat party and preparing the USA for global government.

They are basically stating that conservatism is dead, and that we need to become more liberal-what a joke. This will be a continuing disaster for the party. Don't they realize this. Bush I ushered in the New World Order, Bush II helped put it place, and Bush III will put the nail in the coffin. Most "Republicons" that I talk to think GW was a disaster. Does the party really think we will embrace Bush III. I was considering going back to help get liberty minded candidates elected, but reading this has me rethinking that idea-let them eat crow.
The best part is at the bottom where it said that comments had been disabled-HA HA HA, I love it!

Clearly this is the neocons

Clearly this is the neocons trying to hold onto a party that is slowly leaving them behind. The fact of the matter is, they will be left behind. Right now they are just in power waiting to be voted out and replaced with a true constitutional republican or a democrat. We need to tell them that we are a LOUD minority soon to be a majority! Join the group and give them your policy ideas for a new republican party.

If I have to tell these

If I have to tell these idiots how to do their job, I'd rather do it myself.

If the Republican Party

wants to lose their remaining seats in Congress than they should go ahead and try to push another Bush on America.

In doing so they will be putting the last nail in their coffin.

Right now, I'm just sick of the Republican Party. Romney probably knows Jeb would be a no-go, giving him more of a chance in 2012.

Just Die GOP

Just Die GOP

Proof they still don't get it!

The idea that Jeb Bush or Mitt Romney are the leaders or the future of the New GOP, simply proves that the MSM doesn't understand the meaning of "New". These are the old GOP Dinosaurs, doing their best to hang on to power they once had. Sorry fellas, won't work again. You boys have been put out to pasture!

Bush = "stick a fork in'em"

Thomas Jefferson once said, "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground."

Well, I guess he called that one.

And they can count on Marvin

And they can count on Marvin Bush to carry out their despicable plans all over again.

it would just mean the gop would fail again...

ofc, it that is the goal...***

It could be the goal...to assure Obama survives the economy.

The Bushes and Clintons work together, along with the elites. What we may be seeing here is a means for the Republican Party to talk the talk (Tea Parties--outreach to Ron Paul followers) without walking the walk (Oops! Jeb Bush wins the nomination--guess we'd better rally around him to prevent a second term of Obama!)

The end result is the same--Obama probably wins, while Jeb plays placeholder (and enjoys the political prestige of being the nominee).
