I will donate on one condition

That Jesse Benton nor any of the other abysmal failures that ran Ron Paul's presidential campaign into the ground are associated with this effort.

If those bozos are on board, I'm going to donate to grass roots efforts instead.

BENTON SUCKS!

One should be a little careful...

My brother-in-law just won the Republican nomination for a district office of his state senate (60% to 40%). He was outspent more than 5 to 1 in the two races (having come in second 27% to 45%---roughly according to my memory----in the initial election). How did he come from behind so dramatically to win against an established and older lawyer/political hack? Answer: Word got around that the other guy was getting big bucks from outside the district, and especially from a P.A.C. of Democrats in the state capital. (That was one major factor as I understand it, and another was that my brother-in-law's opponent was a total jerk and participating in very totalitarian/oppressive local politics---confiscating land from individuals illegally through imminent domain and stuff like that.)

In any case, big dollar support *can* backfire.

We need more than money.

We need volunteers on the ground canvassing by the hundreds. I have an inkling that the C4L will hold a regional training event in Kentucky for this reason.

Sure I'll throw some fed notes his way if he does run, its better I spend it on Dr Paul vs throw it away on taxes.

After seeing Rand give the opening speech in Louisville last year (its on YT) I wrote the younger Dr Paul a letter urging him to run for any office. I promised to campaign for him for anything from Dog Catcher to Governor, Senator or whatever opportunity presents itself.

I have an idea for a campaign slogan:
Paul and no Bank. hehe

Paul and no Bank.

thanks for proving my point!

I replied to the post below, and noted we will need to win with word of mouth, not superior fund raising.

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

Good point

We need actual VOTES for Rand and that means canvassing, which costs little money but plenty of time and effort.

The blog was not favorable to us--saying that we were "bragging."

local feet and hands

Right, the local feet on the ground can win elections. Anyone who has those feet locally can begin now to get face-time with the local party "elders". Be calm, be cool, ask what you can do to help. When the time comes in a year for you to introduce Rand, you will be a known and trusted insider.

Get started locally, now. That goes for all of us in each of our local areas for our local candidates that may not be identified yet.

i disagree.

a $6 million money bomb is completely inappropriate.

ron was running for president of the united states. rand is (hopefully) running for a senate seat.

it's not the same at all and should not be treated as such.

and to those of you who question rand's philosophy as compared to his father then perhaps you ought to do some research.

i truly believe he is a good man like his dad.

Ron Paul is my President

Ron Paul is My President

I agree with you but disagree for a different reason - lol!

What I learned from the RP money bombs is that no matter how much money we raise, they can print it faster. They have access to lobbyists who have access to corporations that have access to banksters who have access to OUR taxes...
But at least the money bombs got lots of media coverage... oh yeah, not so much.
I sincerely hope Rand runs and wins. I am almost certain it will have to be a word-or-mouth / internet effort of Herculean proportions. Truth is, the real battle is to expose and bring down the banksters. We will never do that by circulating FRNs. As long as we keep playing politics with FRNs, the Rothschilds (et al) just laugh and laugh - all the way FROM the bank with our money.
Lastly, I have VERY little money I can spend on politics, and I have to use it on local issues. I absolutely cannot afford to send money to politicians running in other states. How many of you will be supporting Idaho's liberty candidates?

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

i agree with you too.

Jim Bunning Will Run For Reelection, Despite Cratering GOP support.

WASHINGTON — A Republican family feud in Kentucky is creating headaches for GOP leaders struggling to position themselves for a congressional comeback in 2010, a year that already seems aligned against them.

Out of power and facing several potentially tough races in the next election cycle, Republican leaders have been sending not-so-subtle messages to Sen. Jim Bunning that they would like for him to retire. Bunning, 77, is considered the most vulnerable Republican incumbent running for re-election next year.

But Bunning, a famously irascible former pitcher enshrined in baseball's Hall of Fame, is digging in. He insists he will run despite lackluster fundraising and is rebuking those who suggest he shouldn't.

It's an uncomfortable situation for Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, also a Kentucky Republican, who just won his own bruising re-election. But Republicans may have to employ a scorched-earth strategy if they want to make even modest gains in the Senate next year.

Republicans are coming off back-to-back losses that cost them control of Congress and the presidency. Next year, they will have to defend seats in several competitive states with no incumbents, including Florida, Ohio, Missouri and New Hampshire.

"If we're serious about a comeback _ and we must be _ then we'll all do what's necessary to get there," McConnell told his colleagues at the Republican National Committee's winter meeting last month.

Thomas Jefferson once said, "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground."

Well, I guess he called that one.

April 12th post here.

Doesn't mean he won't run. There is a lot of pressure on him. But he will if he thinks he still has something to add.

By the way ...

I am not a Bunning fan and will not be contributing to his campaign this cycle. But if Rand gets in this should be interesting and I will be contributing to his campaign.

Rand has grown in so many ways politically over the past 2 years. He would make a fine Senator.

we need to courage Bunning not to run.

Thomas Jefferson once said, "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground."

Agreed ...

But Bunning, if nothing else, is his own person.

Be careful about where to place that pressure.

Much spite in him, he has.

Yes!

The CfL must support Rand. He appears principled and honest like his father. Almost a spitting image of Dr. Paul. As soon as he commits I will be sending him money.

P.S. Can we spiff the guy up a bit? Looks like he buys his suits from his dad's tailor. Just a thought....
