Yes, he started in 2003 in politics and has last year been strongly re-elected and apparently popular and will probably be able to raise a lot and get the support of at least Mitch McConnel (who voted for the bailout). Wonder whether there may be another person also entering the race over time, we will see. In any case we should research all his weaknesses, but Rand Paul should have a positive campaign. Paul has run as the conservative. If he can get some local endorsements, and from the Club of Growth, pro-life groups, Eagle etc. I wonder whether some of the other senators may endorse a candidate in the primary? If so, he should approach the 15 plus conservative senators (like Jim de Mint, Tom Coburn) etc. for endorsements and display his strenghts and knowledge. He is 8 years older than Grayson, and thus much more experienced and must have a base with his patients and as taxpayer. Of course C4L cannot make any official endorsement, as they are 527. Fundraising can be via Ron Paul's Liberty PAC. He should try to get a lot of donors from KY in the beginning especially, so that he shows truely representative of KY.

Now, of course, I don't hold the view of the wild statement above, but, unfortunately, there are people that do. That quote was actually said by what I'm assuming was a former Ron Paul supporter.
Our emphasis on liberty and freedom should extend to the liberty of speech. By hearing what these people have to say, we can send their argument to refutation or confirmation.

If the liberty movement is to succeed, people are going to have to be sensible. They're going to have to keep their pet ideas separate and focus on a message that resonates with mainstream voters we can appeal to. They're going to have to avoid "conspiracy-mongering" in a way that distracts from the movement's objectives and smears everyone as "kooky."
If they can't (or won't) do that, mainstream revolutionaries are going to take their ball and go home, and you'll be left with the tin-foil-hatters only. I believe in liberty, and I will continue to advocate for it. And I don't mind standing beside you guys. But as soon as you start making us all look like nutjobs, you accomplish two things: you kill any chance we have of winning, and you start personally damaging our reputations.
So go ahead. Keep on destroying us with your insane kookery. And when mainstream folks like me say, "Enough. We can't win with these people in tow, so we might as well save our own reputations and fight on another front," you can look in the mirror and know who to blame.
If forced, we will find mainstream, pro-liberty alternatives who are willing to rebuke the psycho-babble of the fringe elements. I'm sure someone like Mark Sanford would love to have the support of the mainstream chunk (80-90%) of Ron Paul's supporters. So if you'd rather turn the Ron Paul Revolution into the Chemtrails, Truthers, NWO Conspiracies Echo Chamber, just say the word and we'll leave the field to you.
I don't mind an uphill fight where I stay true to my principles. But I'm not up for a suicide pact with the dementia ward, where I'll not only lose but be permanently tainted by my association with unreasonable, delusional fanatics.
