e-Petition - Sign Bomb against Internet Censorship in Germany

Protest is rising against a bill that German Government has introduced into the parliament which installs the mechanisms for internet censorship in Germany.

The government abuses the victims for their propaganda as it claims that the techniques were supposed to filter and block pedophile internet sites.

In fact, the filters which are to be established can be easily avoided. The lists of the blocked site are to remain secret.

Though there are already the legal possibilities to prosecute the criminals which server adresses located in Germany.

Against this attack on the internet a e-petition to the German parliament has been launched on monday. Within two days more than 26.000 people have signed the petition.
50k are necessary to enforce a public hearing in the Bundestag.

There is a live ticker to watch the growing numbers:

The text of the petition reads as follows:

We demand the Bundestag to oppose the bill of the German government dated 04/22/09. We think having internet sites indexed by the BKA (more or less like FBI) and blocked by the provides is intransparent and uncontrollable as the blocking lists are neither public nor is defined which criteria should be met to index a site. This is a threat to basic right to freedom of information.
[...]
Blocking internet sites has hardly any impact on the health and well-being of misused children.
