Chosen (a poem)

I'd like to share a poem about a topic that troubles me deeply, waging war in the name of God. I hope you can relate....

Chosen

Can I speak of God and fail to see
Mangled corpse on empire’s built

Chosen means for me and mine
Despair for you in God’s good time
For you are so unlike me
The Son of Man would slaughter sheep?

God shall never deal the blow
To strike down mine…I know
That’s not His hand at all
I know the truth, you don’t

My God will lead the troops
There will be no salvation for you
By His hand we shall rout you out
And stand victorious, as you lout

Only then will you know that death
Fulfills your purpose on earth
The chosen have prevailed again
As passion subdues I see your pain

You are so unlike me
Still your children weep
The Son of Man could slaughter sheep
I speak of God and fail to see

Mangled corpse on empire’s built
In His Name?

Thank you for sharing that, trapfive.

I find it disappointing that more believers are not speaking up about this.

Also, thanks Mathew4RonPaul for your poem below.

Both well done. May these poems stir many.

a poem of my own:

a poem i wrote lastnight :

the drums faint and sound
in time and shake the ground,
a gastardly smell and sight I see
it raises its red tides against our doors
tyrants take and took our gold
but now they come to silence the bold
their brutality will be returned ten fold
the drums are loud and daring with doom
in darkness a shadow and soldier
move to invade our room
and upon our midnight hour is a gloom
as patriots practice and prepare
proud of their heritage they do declare
an independance to be free
beware no man cut them at the knee
courage that will not bow as slave or coward,
drums are beating the faint call at your door
an ugly thing has come, its name is war

Very stirring and

Very stirring and inspiring-great poem!

Thanks Mathew

great poem. It speaks of the impending doom I believe is coming our way.

We talk on this forum about all the crap that's being perpetuated against us through our corrupt government, the bankers, etc.

I wonder sometimes what my reaction will be when we finally do have war in our streets. I pray that I'm man enough to stand up for what I believe is right.

Is there any way to stop these wars? The American citizen is so removed from the reality of war, they don't understand it. Perhaps the only way to change our perception of war is to have a taste of it. Maybe then we'd think twice before we stood by and let our out of control government bomb innocent people to keep us safe. Maybe...

trapfive,

Did you write this poem ?

It is very thought-provoking !

Very good !

Hey a political poetry forum :)

there once was a man from DC
who started his wars based on greed
he used false flag ops
pulled out all the stops
now he's richer than he'd ever need :)

Stop the NWO....It's just illumi..Naughty !

yes

I wrote it yesterday.

I've struggled for years with the whole Christian "just war" concept. When I started to realize what war is really about ( thanks Dr. Paul), the struggle for me was over. I look back now on Iraq and how W subtly used the "God's on our side" argument and it depresses me that I followed. All I can say is no more.

trapfive,

Almost all participants in wars try to justify their atrocious behavior by saying God, or Allah, or whoever or whatever, is on our side.
What a crock! I like the way you verbalized that sentiment.

Would it be OK with you if I copied your poem, and shared it with my friends? I would like to send it to both of them ... ( BOTH of my friends ... LOL )

sure vlbc

I'd be honored for you to share this poem.

Yes, I agree with the all participants sentiment. I know some people will read this poem and think I'm just trying to bash Christianity or our country. But I believe these words ring true for all sides.

As a Christian I sometimes feel like I'm wading against the current when it comes to pointing out "our part".
