"Overview of America" Presented by The John Birch Society

As a matter of concern, it seems to me that we need to be reminded of the principles which made our American republic so great in history past. Unfortunately, other ideas have been flushed in our society to drain out what we once stood for, even under the guise of "liberty". There has been open but shameful praise in America for everything from socialism to anarchy. Yet, neither of those systems contains the preconditions for any successful civil and stable society because each undermines the key ingredient to a proper civic--the rule of law. Therefore, it gives me great pleasure to reintroduce a video which I believe presents a wonderful summary of the key principles to our republic. Without further ado, here is Overview of America:

A Bump

This one is for the anarchists on board.

An Obamatron in the family

At a recent family gathering, a male family member and I got to talking about "current events", etc. He is an Obamatron and said many ignorant, frustration-inducing things, but one of the most startling was this: "Well, you need someone steering the ship. You can't have all 50 states doing their own thing."

Oh, my head...but without missing a beat, I replied, "Well, that's what a republic is..."

And I saw in that first nano-second after I stopped speaking that blink of acknowledgement, that instantaneous jolt of recognition of something true, something right, and something this person hadn't thought about in decades...

Unfortunately, he has more company than we do...

Recommend the Overview

You should let your family member watch the video because it's apparent he needs to be reeducated about the nature of our republic. The video is only 30 minutes long, so he doesn't have to worry about sitting through a long seminar or anything like that. Perhaps after watching it, he will have a better understanding of what civil government is supposed to look like, and his "blink of acknowledgment" will turn into enlightenment.
