UPDATED: 5-star DP Reviews: Must see videos explain R3volution!

One of America's foremost freedom activists, my good friend (and hero) Ernest Hancock, tells the Tennessee LP how he sparked the Ron Paul R3volution and why he knew it would succeed. If you've never heard Ernie talk, you'll be blown away. If you have, you'll be blown away all over again.

The speech is recorded as 15 segments on YouTube. If you just want to hear the RPR stuff, start with part 9. Or....

I really recommend starting at the beginning to enjoy a great seminar on effective activism.

It doesn't get much better than this.

Missed This The First Time Round

Wow, things move off the front page so fast - blink and you miss 'em. Saved for later.

Yes, they move fast ...

but that's a measure of the success of the DP.

Anyway, if you want your fellow DPers to see this wonderful stuff, I hope you'll bump this post periodically to keep it on the front page. I've replied as much as I reasonably can to other comments, but it looks bad if I'm just bumping my own post just to keep it up front.

So ... your help (and anyone else's) in keeping this fabulous resource in view of our DP readership would be greatly appreciated!

I love this guy! He is talking sense.

I have always felt the Libertarian party was an oxymoron. It has always been about 'freeing minds'. Always. Education and Truth. Individual creativity being unleashed. Imagine this across the board! No one telling others what to do. But the question is more like, what would you like to do? Then go ahead and do it! Makes sense to me.

"The courage of one man is a majority" - Andrew Jackson

Esoteric Speech?!

Alot of what he says is pretty sweet to my ear, but he throws ideas around. I heard him throw in the support of Internet2.... I myself never trusted it, here is alex ranting about it

Might be good info, just seems suspicious

Because of this video tho, I never would have otherwise related the Ron Paul R3volUTION Signs with something to that of Shepard Fairey's Obama red and blue poster. They both were used and manipulated upon freely because there were no owners rights, ect.

I think you missed his point.

Ernie wasn't supporting Internet2, he was saying we'll ultimately have our own satellites and BYPASS Internet2 and other government-controlled media.

He needs to go on Freedom watch

I coulden't stop watching these, all 15 segments.

I love the saying - "There are two kinds of people, those who want to be left alone, and those who won't leave people alone".

Very motivational. Go make some signs! Maybe that's what C4L's mission should be again.

Peace, Freedom and Prosperity should be our motto as Americans. Keep the American dream alive no matter how dark or difficult our circumstances seem.
Ron Paul is my President.

Peace, Freedom and Prosperity. Not War, Welfare and Bankruptcy.

That saying

was Ernie's signature line on his drive-time, no-holds-barred, libertarian talk show in Phoenix a while back.

The other signature line, which he uses in this talk to the TNLP, was "Freedom's the answer. What's the question?"

BTW -- guess I'll have to check out Freedom Watch.

Sounds interesting....

Great presentation! What a

Great presentation! What a fire cracker... I highly recommend watching the whole thing.

Firecracker to friends ...

weapon of mass destruction to the enemies of freedom!

Seriously 15 segments?

Not enough. More Please! I wasn't planning on watching the whole thing but holy cow that guy's awesome! How have I not even heard of Ernie Hancock until now? I'm new and all but I thought I knew all the major players,

It sounds like he's a no nonsense doer, he gets the job done and could care less who gets the credit or who gets in the way. That is pretty admirable and probably why I haven't heard of him yet. He could care less how famous he is as long as he's accomplishing his goals.

On the other hand he also sounds like he's stepped on quite a few toes of power hungry "leaders" both inside and outside of the movement. May be another reason why I haven't heard of him. TPTB don't want to lose control over the message, but like he said the tighter the grip the more slips through your fingers.

Then again, maybe I just need to read and watch more, I'm such a noob! But I love it, I keep discovering these great libertarian thinkers for the first time.and its like discovering ice cream or pizza, where have they been all my life!

I loved Ernie's message. Just get out there and do it, free minds. You don't need to wait for the orders to come down from top, or for your local freedom group to get organized, just get out there and do it. You don't need to ask the man permission to criticize the man, you just do it. great stuff.

I don't know if I agree completely with his notion of 100% freedom as a goal, but I understand it as a strategy. Being for 100% freedom brings those in the middle more towards the goal than starting at the middle and futily trying to push it towards freedom. But after its all said and done, I'm thinking more like 90-95% freedom, as in very limited government, not anarchy but close. I believe government is a necessary evil. At times a higher authority is needed to settle disputes, protect liberties and so forth. But that's where vigilance comes in and solid constitutional chains to restrict government to the bare essentials. Constant vigilance is vital and educating the population is key. In order for a republic to survive the people must have a thorough understanding of the dangers and the nature of the beast. The second your eye is off it, government will seek every recourse and trick possible to break free of its constitutional chains and trample its keepers under oppressive tyranny, for their own good of course, so it believes.

While we perfect that, I agree pushing for as little or no government as possible will get the herd in the middle moving in the right direction.

You got it.

This post shows clearly that you understand completely why Ernie is so successful.

The one place you need a bit more convincing is the 100% freedom stance. Now, I won't say that the movement doesn't benefit from the efforts of others who take a less ambitious stand -- 80% or whatever -- but the key idea is that if there's not enough support for the 100% stance, compromise will always end up producing not only a lesser degree of success in the short term, but also leave that gain very vulnerable to quick reversal.

If political change is driven by those who just want to reach their desired level of comfort -- I call it "comfy chains" -- then it is always minimal and temporary. But if it is driven by no-compromise, principle-driven 100%ers, the pressure to maintain freedom never abates. That's what we need in order to KEEP the gains the movement achieves.

It is truly amazing

how much I am learning through this site (DP).
I feel like a sponge. Soaking it all up, learning things that weigh heavy on me (kind of like a sponge full of water), but loving every minute of it. (Kind of like an unused sponge has no purpose!)

good god that was corny.........

Thanks to all of you for finding and providing such a wealth of knowledge and information and welcoming new people to learn.

I love your enthusiasm!

Keep it up, even though coming events will test it sorely.

I have learned a lot from

I have learned a lot from this man. Not only is Ernie an amazing patriot, but he is a genuine human being.
His dedication the this movement incredible.
I am fortunate to spend a lot of time with him and let me tell you, there is never a boring second when Ernie is around. I am proud to call him my friend.

Best series on freedom activism ever!

kvc thank you so much; I watched 9-15 -- wonderful. I'll watch the full series but it's almost midnight now. This is truly inspiring.

reedr3v's picture

I finished the whole series; well worth

watching, really gets into very very interesting stuff in Part 7 and just speeds up and gets better in the following vids to the end.

Maybe so.

I've seen a lot of speeches on activism for freedom, but this one may beat them all for packing the biggest whallop in a reasonable amount of time.

TGIF Bump!

Don't worry, I haven't run out of bumps yet! Seriously though, check out this video. Part 9 linked above is a good place to start.

I hope you and others

will continue bumping this post. If only most DPers would watch Ernie's talk we'd see more energy and enthusiasm for C4L, etc., than ever.

I love this!!! Wow, this guy is great!

"The courage of one man is a majority" - Andrew Jackson

And he can do it anytime

by the seat of his pants. His understanding of freedom and politics is in his DNA I think -- or maybe he's using the Force! ;-)

Midnight Bump!

Start watching this one guys! You'll be impressed! Use the playlist link in my post below.

Thanks -- could use another one.

Another bump, that is. ;-) So many DPers who won't see this stuff unless this post stays active!

This is an awesome lecture

This is an awesome lecture by Ernest Hancock. I knew he came up with the r3VOLution logo, but had no idea of the extent of his activism. This should be on the front page. I went ahead and made a play list to view all these videos:

Good idea ...
