Ron Paul is Martin Luther
Ron Paulites,
I just got done watching the PBS documentary, "Empires: Martin Luther" that you can watch streaming on Netflix. I highly recommend it.
If you ever waiver in feeling the righteousness of our cause, watch this video. The parallels between a sole, courageous voice standing up against the powers-that-be, reminding us that Liberty comes directly from the Divine, and not through some intermediary, are uncanny.
The success of Luther's words were due to the new invention of the printing press, and Ron Paul's words are spreading and enlightening people due to the Internet...because of you, and your efforts.
The documentary uses the word "revolution" over and over. We are on a similar path, and the import of our cause is no less severe.
Long Live the rEVOLution,

Here it is.
Empires: Martin Luther - The Reluctant Revolutionary
Everyone Should Watch This!
Thanks! It puts our struggle in historical context, and shows us that we are right to stay diligent. Just like back then, the people are starting to see the corruption of the rulers. The truth of Liberty will set them free.
"Doctrine is heaven" said Luther.
"I am a Constitutionalist," said Ron Paul.
Interesting comparison, I see how it can be made.
Dr. Paul
is a born Lutheran, did you knew that? Well, my church history is probably better than most here: The protestant Reformation was a peaceful revolution back to the roots of Christendom, the "Bible as the Word of God", in its hermeneutical intent. The individual believer (in differentiation from the state) is important. The Reformation also lead to the translation of the Bible in local languages (from the Latin... Luther did the one in German) and this also meant politically the establishment of the nation-state, in today's term the sovereignty of a country or state and also a federal (as opposed to a centralized) states in Germany for instance. You can see the parallel with Dr. Paul's political philosophy :-)
Likewise the Ron Paul revolution is a peaceful revolution back to the roots of the US: the Constitution and Bill or rights, in its original intent.
The Lutherans also taught that there are two "kingdoms", the one on earth and that of God and that they are separate. This means there is more of a relative (not absolute) separation between church and state.
(Gary Johnson is also a Lutheran). The Reformation was also a renaissance, with consequences of individual creativity in society.
The Roman Catholic church needed reformation. The reformation was first suppressed, and they thought it was like an anarchism, but it was not, more a rational return to the basis, stripped from all the other things to the essence. You can see the parallel of the Ron Paul political movement: The GOP needs reformation, saw the Ron Paul revolution initially as a sort of anarchism, that want to do away with the state, which it is not. There is a distinct difference between minarchism and anarchism, a constitutional republic and a state and lawless society.
In the reformation time, there were also "anarchists" (Remonstrants)", just like with the Ron Paul revolution there are also a few anarchists :-)
Another parallel is also that the Reformation started spontaneously (at the grassroots) though different areas and countries of Europe and they learned form each other.
Thanks
Good stuff, Thanks.
