HR 1207: Senate version S.604 - Sponsor Sen. Bernard Sanders

0 votes

Please help support the senate version of HR 1207. Bernard Sanders is sponsoring this bill. See details below. Get the word out to your senators!!

In the past year or so, the Federal Reserve has given banks more than $2 trillion in loan guarantees in an attempt to forestall the economic crisis. But information on where all this money has gone and what kind of securities the Fed has accepted in exchange is unavailable. Since the Fed is a quasi-public institution, they aren’t obliged to tell us, even though they are pushing around public money. “The contrast is pretty clear,” says Sen. Bernard Sanders, who is sponsoring the Senate version (S.604), “if you want to know who received the money under TARP, go to the website, it’s there. If you want to know who received the money from the Fed, it ain’t there.”

Now it's time to bombard the Senators to do their part!

Anyone may use any part of the fax I just sent my two senators.

Dear Sir(s):

Now it is your time to step up to the plate and vote to co-

sponsor the Senate companion (S 604) to the bi-partisan

HR 1207, The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009!

Your constituents know the time to act is now to find out what the Fed is doing with our money by completing a meaningful audit of the Federal Reserve System. Congress must fulfill its duty of oversight in this regard.

We will be watching closely how you vote.

We want you to act like the statesmen you profess to be by co-sponsoring the Senate version of S.604 and voting for the

Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009!

In Liberty,

Yes we do.

It will all be for naught in the House, if we can't get it to go anywhere in the Senate

Exactly correct!

Exactly correct!

Maybe that's why the PTB

Maybe that's why the PTB aren't sweating this since they hope to kill it on the senate floor

S.604 has gotten very little

S.604 has gotten very little promotion. We need to promote this as much as we can. Each state has 2 senators, so we could send a massive amount of phone calls and emails to them in each state.

We need to start building

We need to start building momentum for this also! We need the senate bill to get a vote on the floor!!
