HR-1207 needs only 75 more votes (if it ever gets out of commitee)

HR-1207 if it ever gets out of committee needs only 75 votes
More than the the current 143 co-sponsors to pass the House.
435/2=217.5, so 218 votes need for simple majority.
218-143=75 votes.
Think about how close this is to passing the House, we just need to get it out of committee.

brad sherman
so i started this list of the house financial services committee members (see this link)
and just as a test i called brad sherman's office to see if they're open on the weekend. his office was not open.
i figure that if we get 11 of the committee members on board, then we're assured passage thru the committee. ALSO that's 11 fewer we need for the entire house majority AND we'll get a majority y of the committee. (so for the full house we need like 75 more... less 11 from the committee, that's 64).
some patriots are filling in the fax numbers on the list. we could use more help. hint hint.

doesn't he have his sights on the 2012 presidential race?
I'm in shock!
Mark Kirk (R-IL 10th) supported the Patriot Act, supports Real ID. Nearly always tows the 'establishment' line.
But I'll gladly take his vote on this one!
Senate
Eventually we'll need to really start hammering the Senate with correspondence. That is going to be a much tougher battle than the House.
Tough job alright. But we should be doing it now.
S 604 won’t take care of itself. Most Senators are cowardly bums too.

Misrepresentative Steven King just backs up his stupidity with high-school-level excuses. It’s sickening because the lowlife knows better.

Good idea
Time to investigate them! See who stuffs their bank accounts. Don't tell me Graham is on the list.
Check out Nancy's disclosure form...
Makes for interesting reading....I wish someone would throw a bucket of water on her. Then check out Rons.' He practices what he preaches.
only?
get real! What we did is outstanding with the numbers but believe me the government is criminal and they waged war upon us. They have most of the police and military bought so what are you gonna do about it?
It can bypass committee
with the consent of 218 reps. So that wont be a problem if the 75 additional votes for the bill exist.
Any time constraints?

sounds like a great idea if
sounds like a great idea if you post it i will plan on keeping it bumped and calling every number. I put up a list several days ago of other legislation to mention while we were one the phones and it fell off the page.

11 more to get out of committee?
hey odel,
what do you think of this:
i started this spreadsheet that lists the members of the house financial services committee:
hr1207 spreadsheet
i want your help filling in the "phone" and "fax" fields.
my thinking is this: get HR1207 out of committee. this requires, at worst, a majority of the committee to vote for it (see this link).
25 (mostly republican) out of 71 members of the house financial services committee are co-sponsors. that means the bill needs 11 more members to get the simple majority of the committee (71 /2 = 35.5 so we need 36 votes. 36 - 25 = 11). that doesn't sound too hard does it?
let's fill the spreadsheet out and then start to use it go get 11 more members.
what do you all think? good idea or bad idea?
I pledge, do you?
I stink at spread sheets, I'll see if my wife can do any on it
My eyes cross and glaze over with spread sheets.
