Don't Do It, Pete!

The establishment will shut you down in short order and you'll have NO POWER.

In the private sector, you're very effective at coalescing the disparate factions of public opinion (a requirement for mankind to transcend the sorry state of his affairs as they now stand). Why give that up?

How much difference do you think one (ignored) senator can make?

Wasn't Joseph McCarthy essentially correct?

Besides the enormous cut in pay you'll sustain, if (when) the established power collapses, where then will you be? Prison? Worse?

I don't disagree that opinions like yours are needed in government, but a single voice does not a chorus make! The entrenched power is not going to be "voted" away.

We need you, man! You're like a VERY BIG STICK! Don't disappear in the US Senate!

Couldn't agree more.

Unless Schiff is CFR and nobody knows about it, he will be marginalized in the Senate the way Ron Paul is in the House.

He is better off staying the private sector and appearing on TV.

Peter Schiff 2010

We need you in the Senate, Peter. You got my vote if you do decide to run, which you should. Join Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Adam Kokesh, BJ Lawson, and let's hope more.

As things worsens, these people will shine even more.

I hope that it won't be too late.

Senate

Peter,

Why would you want to be associated with this body? You have a great reputation....why ruin it?

The Senate race in Connecticut

The Republican establishment wants former Congressman Rob Simmons to get the nomination to run against Dodd. Simmons seems to be a nice enough guy, but he's ex-CIA and a moderate Republican (NOT a Ron Paul Republican). The GOP leaders say that a moderate gives the Republicans their best chance at winning. A young conservative state Representative (who's name I've forgotten) has announced that he will run. Leadership seems to be encouraging others to get in the race (Amb Foiley and Schiff).
I think there are 2 reasons for this (1)it splits the anti-Simmons vote and (2)if the Dems abandon Dodd and nominate Atty. Gen. Blumenthal the Republicans will need a sacrificial lamb to lose to Blumenthal. Simmons has no interest in losing to Blumenthal but Foiley and Schiff can both self finance their campaigns and would both stay in the race against Blumenthal. In Schiff gets the nomination and loses leadership would bring him up every time a Ron Paul Republican showed interest in running. They would say: "We love you Ron Paul people and we know Dr. Paul has been winning elections in Texas, but this is Connecticut and his message just doesn't sell here, after all we gave Schiff a try and look what happened."

Best news I've heard in a while.

I got the impression that Schiff knows politics is a dirty business and wanted to stay out of it completely.

However, I bet he is constantly badgered by people asking him to run for office.

He explains the disastrous consequences of government intervention in layman's terms. He's media savvy and easy to understand.

In a media climate that is obsessed with personal details and background, this wealthy suburban Jewish guy from Connecticut can't be negatively stereotyped as a "right wing extremist" or "Christian fundamentalist" militia leader.

Huge asset!

"Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." - Benito Mussolini.

He should be much more

He should be much more cautious on his predictions, as Rogers and Faber or even Dr. Paul himself are being more cautious right now. I actually prefer to read libertarian economists like Antal Fekete.

podcast

Does he have a podcast or books or anything? Fakete I mean.

Schiff

I still don't trust Peter Schiff. I think his clients are losing money.

Actually,

I can tell you from personal experience that that is not the case.

Who hasn't been losing money?

You don't trust what he says, or you don't trust him enough to invest with him? I think what he is giving an accurate assessment of the market. Can you point me to a brokerage firm where 100% of the clients are making money right now? I am pretty sure that a brokerage firm in the position does not exist. Maybe you are expecting too much.

You're right...there's no

You're right...there's no such thing as a brokerage firm with a 100% happy satisfied clients. The market isn't the place where everyone wins, otherwise it would disappear. Someone has to lose in order for others to win. Samuel Stanislas, part of the Infiintare firma team.

ya...

Ya and those firms have their heads down. He probably lost 50% last year and he has only one plan with no backup.

Nor do I

His company is not in step with what Peter Schiff says. He says to get out of dollars and into foreign currencies. Well, with Europac (Schiff's company) that is not easy.

He's a bit over-inflated. Not financially, but egotistically.

Schiff

I think he should wait until 2012 if he wants to run because then we can see how his clients came out.

Oh I hope not

He's in a good position right now, where he is. He's in the media frequently and gets a lot of coverage. He's a maverick; and, in a Senatorial environment where one has to 'play ball' he will probably not be given the time of day. Is the guy in the CFR? I doubt it.

Yes, Chris Dodd is a chowderhead, but he's a CFR chowderhead, so he's got power and influence that Schiff could probably not attain. Smarts have nothing to do with success in Congress. Ron Paul is smart as a whip and he is usually marginalized. That would probably happen with Schiff. They will clip his wings pronto.

And, as Ron Paul pointed out a while back, who knows what the world, or the U.S.A., will be like in 2010? The major layoffs this summer (the auto makers), the likelihood of a war in the MidEast, and God knows what, may disrupt life as we know it even more.

Why doesn't he run for

Why doesn't he run for President?

Start your own party Peter and run for President... you got my vote!

This guy seems really

This guy seems really bright. I hope he runs. Chris Dodd is my senator and I think that guy's a total nwo dick. someone who actually cares about humanity and understands the world would serve this state a lot better.

ljrdxyh: good idea!

Did it, done.

Rand Paul and Schiff in the

Rand Paul and Schiff in the Senate? Not to mention RP republicans like Kokesh and RJ Harris running for the House nationwide?!?!?!?!

Ventura 2012

Very,

very encouraging. I hope he decides to go for it.

He sounds like he is very seriously considering this..

possibility. He mentioned all of the internet support also, and that means us!
