In what has to be the most inane homework assignment ever, a Pueblo, Colorado teacher tells 110 freshmen to concoct a terrorist plot as a homework assignment. School superintendent admits that students who complete the assignment could risk expulsion.

They were asked to "illustrate an act of terrorism”. Little else is known from this very poor article.

from Wiki
18 U.S.C. §2331[25] defines terrorism as:

…activities that involve violent… or life-threatening acts… that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State and… appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping…."

As with most breaking stories around here, I think it is best to keep calm and get more information before throwing stones.

Depending on how such an assignment is conducted, this could be a very significant exercise. Comparing US law to other countries, political malleability on definition, state vs public application etc..

What kind of stupid assignment is that?

If I was a parent of one of those kids, I wouldn't let them participate. I would also file a complaint against the school, raise a big stink with the media and get coverage of it. Surely there has to be some hidden agenda behind this, like evaluating each of the kids ideas and determining if he/she needs special education at a alternative school away from the supposed "normal" kids who write a stupid plot that would never work.

Real eyes realize real lies

We want our country back

Every year is a year for Ron Paul!

What if it's secretly a contest for new ideas

Like when Limp Bizkit went around the country looking for a new guitarist only to emerge with the same guy as before and a slew of new riffs.

"Let the children plan their own demise, mwaahahaha" D. Rockefeller to NEA

Oh, that is not good.

with them reading people computers these kids could get in all kinds of trouble. Wow, now I think this is the craziest thing I have read.

borrowing money from the banksters! That's a simple enough plot, if we could do that it would strike fear in the enemy
