"Under Mike Huckabee, Arkansas saw a 37 percent increase in sales tax, a 16 percent increase in gas tax and a monster 103 percent increase in cigarette taxes. According to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, the state suffered a net tax increase of $505 million under Huckabee. With Mike as governor, state spending exploded more than 65% between 1996 and 2004, which just happened to be more than three times the inflation rate. State debt rose by almost one billion dollars and the number of government workers rose 20%.

American Spectator reports that Huckabee has also been investigated fourteen times and officially reprimanded five times by the state Ethics Commission, a respected, non-partisan body. MSNBC says there were many other scandals. Greg Pierce says in the “conservative” Washington Times that Mike “used public money for family restaurant meals, boat expenses, and other personal uses. He tried to claim as his own some $70,000 of furniture donated to the governor’s mansion. . . .” Which recalls the departing Clintons cleaning out the White House."

Ummmmmmm, not too worried with those numbers. I heard on one of the conservative radio shows today Mitt Romney being interviewed about Huckabee's polling success in Iowa. Mitt's response was basically, "Well that's where he's been putting all of his financial resources and cannot afford the to do the same elsewhere." He is counting on his Straw Poll popularity there to translate into actual voters, and he will probably show well there...repeat "there."

Everyone, even media-wise now, seem to be looking at Mike as a VP prospect, not the Top Gun position. The guy is likeable, but as Mitt also pointed out in this interview, "They like Mike Huckabee because so far no one really knows Mike Huckabee." That came from MITT!!!

Just love to see Mitt, Rudy, Fred and now Mike fight it out among themselves...and Ron steadily passing them by while they feud and fight :-)

Thats the game Huck is playing.... keeps lowering goals and says... Come on we CAN DO THIS.... then they don't... Claim their ROLLING and set another type of LOWER GOAL.. that they try to reach..

If Huckabee beats Ron by 20,000 every single day in December, that means he'll catch up by 620,000, which means he will still raise....what, about 1/5 of what Ron raises this quarter?
